Ronald Dosh Is As Good An Attorney As His Client Will Allow Him To Be. Great Client - You have a Great Attorney in Ron!

What clients need to understand, Ron is working on your behalf all the time. So, when you see him chatting with a bailiff or the other side, trust that it is by design. There isn't any good reason to act like a hard nose when practicing in such a small jurisdiction, chances are the other sides attor...ney and clients might need your help some day or you might need theirs... When you have Ron in your corner, and he believes in you, you have a tenacious advocate that is always Well Prepared and Ready To Go. And, good chance he has told you how he wants you to appear while in court or around the court, there is a reason. Everything Ron does has a motive behind it and you need to comply. Some have problems with this and write less than flattering things. They just didn't understand how Ron works.Ron doesn't like Surprises so if you held back something, good chance Ron will find out what it is before the other side does but, if he's blind sided due to something you elected to not discuss, he will ball you out. So, lets not get up in arms and 'Good Old Boy' this or that, you want that Good Old Boy Connection otherwise you might as well hire an attorney from L.A. Remember, Ron Likes To Win and this is Good, when he Wins so do you! And have you noticed, many of Ron's clients become friends as evidence by Ron's annual Christmas Party. Now when you have the DA, ADA, Judges and other attorneys socializing with Ron, you and everyone, this can't hurt should you find yourself looking up at the Bench and a guy with Black Robs... Now you want Ron! Remember, Ron really doesn't like or know how to pussy foot around, so he direct and expect the same from his client. That pretty much all one needs to know, be honest, open, don't hold back anything - give Ron a chance to use all the tools and your chances of winning are Very Hopeful. You won't find a Better Attorney but watch out for Ron's Son, Arron... :) BM

Knows the law, is not a risk taker

I think Ron is a good attorney who is well respected. However, he is not comfortable taking risky positions and he fraternizes with the other family lawyers - playing golf, eating dinner, going to events, etc. That helps you in that he has relationships with them that can work to your advantage in ...settlement negotiations, but it hurts you in that he doesn't want to attack them in court. I also never knew what information he was sharing with the other attorney because of their friendship, which I very much viewed as a conflict of interest. He is a smart person who knows the laws and is well connected. However, he does not have a bulldog courtroom presence and my sense is that those kind of lawyers do better - the ones who are less concerned with relationship management amongst their peers and more concerned with winning. My ex has one of those and I wish in retrospect that he was my attorney.

Good Old Boys of El Dorado County

I had high hopes for Ron Dosh, thinking that he could rise above the El Dorado County-Good Old Boys Club. Unfortunately I was wrong. El Dorado County is known for its GOB club, where justice is rarely served. If you are not with the "in" attorney, the one who fraternizes with the judges on vacatio...n etc., there is no hope of you getting a fair hearing.

Knowledgeable & OK Courtroom Presence

Disclaimer: The following are personal opinions based on first-hand experience. This is probably one of the best attorneys in El Dorado County for family court matters, but he is a bit over-priced, inflexible, and somewhat condescending, among other attributes and faults. If you want the best result...s with him, you need to be prepared to let him exercise an ego on your dime. That can be a good thing in some cases, because he has an incredibly strong and competent court-room presence and one can tell he is probably the most well-regarded attorney in the county. However, with regards to case prep, he seems to demonstrate preconceived ideas, perhaps rightly so based on his vast experience, but he "shoots from the hip" more than a bit, so if you prefer hand-holding, you are used to thoroughness in your preparation, or you just like to manage (or at least ensure) the details of your case and be kept informed on at least a week-to-week basis, then you may want to look elsewhere. To keep costs down, he may recommend you interfacing on the day-to-day with a junior attorney or assistant in his office, but don't do it because the assistant was always flustered, couldn't think on their own feet by their-self without consulting with the boss, rarely returned calls, and constantly makes one retrace already-discussed subject matter "on the clock". This is precisely where the problems began in my case. So be prepared to keep this attorney on point for everything and to have to pay his hourly rate for even simple questions and follow-up. Because of his tenure, this attorney tends to put more value on his relationships with opposing attorneys throughout the county than he does with his clients, again in my experience, so keep in mind that for the most part you may feel like the odd man out. That could be a good thing when it comes time for him to negotiate for you with opposing counsel, however in my case he attempted to negotiate away my position in ways where a much better job would have been performed had he LISTENED to me or CONSIDERED THE DATA which I painstakingly prepared. When I protested, he threw a fit and dropped me, after me spending 5 figures already with him, of course. I spent a fraction of that amount with a subsequent attorney who was able to negotiate my settlement in a fraction of the time and for a settlement that was literally tens of thousands of dollars less than what this attorney tried force-feeding me. Working with this very competent and capable attorney was not a warm or courteous or even a contentious experience. Not at all how I treat my clients. The bottom line is that attorneys are not unlike a lot of other kinds of business people accustomed to getting what they want out of the relationship. They spend the most amount of effort on the business that poses the greatest potential for personal fiduciary reward with little regard to much outside that scope. In that regard, this attorney is excellent.
