I received my Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology at the University of Utah, while also taking Chemistry and Physics courses as well. From there, I moved out to Sacramento, CA and went to The University of the Pacific’s McGeorge School of Law, where I received a Doctorate of Law degree, while also specializing in Intellectual Property Law (including Patent, Trademark, Copyright, Sports and Entertainment Law). During law school, I interned at the Public Defender’s Office in the Juvenile department and began my career as a defense attorney.
I really look forward to meeting you and helping you feel comfortable with understanding your rights and what to expect from the judicial system. I promise that I will do so with compassion and respect while maintaining my ethical duties to my clients and the courts.

His wife is a scammer
Not sure about Michael’s business, but his wife scammed me and sold me something online that was falsely advertised. When I asked for a refund she ignored me. I was never rude or disrespectful. She directed me to deal with her husband. I reached out to him and now he is enabling her fraud actions. Th...

Not For Tough Cases
We hired Mr. Dedecker for a legal guardianship case in Juvenile Dependency. While Mr. Dedecker is nice and professional, he is only worth hiring if you have an easy case. He isn't an attorney that will fight hard for you and go the distance. He isn't a trial attorney. We had to constantly beg and ...
Thank you for your review and comments Michelle. I am grateful for whatever feedback I can get from my clients to help me serve you better. With that being said, I know the results of your case were very frustrating and not what you were looking for. However, the law is very intricate, and it’s very frustrating when justice is not carried out in a manner that benefits my clients. I value every client. As this is a family-oriented firm, I strive to make each client feel as though they are important and their case matters to me. Additionally, had you requested an itemized bill, I certainly would have provided one, which would have demonstrated that the retainer you paid was used, particularly when you refused to pay the remaining balance. I can assure you that extensive legal work was put into your case, including preparing and filing several legal documents, reading extensive amounts of emails, conducting a thorough legal research and case law review, communicating on a constant basis, setting up a bonding assessment, attending multiple hearings including pre-trial and trial dates. Also, please keep in mind that I was not your particular attorney at the trial date, as you were represented by another attorney, and after multiple, difficult conversations with all parties, and receiving 2 tentative rulings from the court, I offered my legal opinion based off my 15 years of experience, including over 100+ trials. I understand the result was not what you desired or hoped for, and it is still difficult to deal with, and I am sincerely sympathetic to your feelings and understand why this is so emotional for you. It was definitely not the outcome I desired as well, and I wish things could have been different for you and your husband. I urge caution when speaking with outside attorneys as they were not present at the hearings, nor spoke with any other parties involved, and do not have a full understanding of the entirety of the case. I do appreciate your comments and review though and will certainly take it into consideration to improve my services in the future. Sincerely, Michael DeDecker
