Enriqueta Rico

Enriqueta (Queta) Rico received her Juris Doctorate from the University of Idaho, College of Law in 1997. She graduated from California State University, Chico in 1992 with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. 

Enriqueta worked at the Federal Defenders of Eastern Washington and Idaho from 1997 to 1998, and then moved on to the San Diego County Office of The Alternate Public Defender, where she worked in both the criminal and juvenile dependency units. She remained in San Diego until 2004 and ultimately returned to Northern California where she was born and raised. She joined the Sacramento County Public Defender’s Office, where she worked until 2011. She litigated various criminal cases in her tenure with the Public Defender’s Office and in 2012 went on to gain civil experience at the Sacramento-based law firm of Rushford & Bonotto, LLP.

Enriqueta is a member of several professional associations, including the California Public Defender Association, the Council on Legal Education and Opportunity Fellow, and the California Employment Lawyers Association.

In her spare time, Enriqueta enjoys running and cooking. She is fluent in both English and Spanish.
