Biography
Heidi Holmquist Wells is a partner at The Zwerdling Law Firm, LLP in Eureka, California, with a focus on personal injury litigation. Since entering private practice in 2017, she has achieved life-changing results for clients from all walks of life who have experienced injuries due to the negligence of others.
Ms. Wells came to Humboldt in 2010 after graduating from The University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law where she focused on trial advocacy and competed on the Mock Trial Team. While still in law school, she interned for the Yolo County Public Defender's Office representing indigent clients. There, she completed several trials, and after passing the bar at the age of 25, she moved to Humboldt County to take a job as a Deputy Public Defender.
Ms. Wells served her community as Humboldt County Deputy Public Defender for over seven years, litigating every kind of criminal case and achieving "NOT GUILTY" verdicts in not just one, but two murder trials. In 2017, she was named a "Top 40 under 40" Lawyer in the area of criminal defense by The National Trial Lawyers. Her vast trial experience and partnership with locally renowned personal injury attorney Zachary Zwerdling have prepared her for the complex legal work required to get the best result for her clients who have been wrongfully injured.
Ms. Wells is dedicated to her clients, knowledgeable in her areas of practice, and understands that every case comes down to a person and their story. She strives to make difficult situations easier and enjoys finding creative solutions to some of life’s biggest problems.
When not in the office, she enjoys spending time with her family, dogs, and horses in the breathtaking nature of Humboldt County.
