Thank you!

I was hit with a request from opposing counsel that I could not find the answer to. Attorney Kassman responded just a few minutes after I posted and was spot on. I avoided sanctions, extra motions and my case possibly being dismissed. Truckloads of thanks for being quick and accurate.

Mr. Kassman helped me to not feel hopeless

Mr. Kassman answered my question with respect and didn't make me feel as if I had no chance of winning my appeal. I've been fighting this thing since September of 2016. I've been in court since 2014 because of my son's continuous abuse and threats towards me and my family. My son had a criminal case ...at the time he filed a DVRO against me. He had violated mine and my ex daughter in laws previous DVRO. I know he filed a DVRO against me in hopes to get a lesser charge in his criminal case. My grandson who will be 9 years old next month is my heart. My son had my grandson put as a protected person on his DVRO. My ex daughter in law always my grandson to call me and FaceTime me. He begs for me to let him tell the judge that I did nothing wrong. My grandson is one of my main reasons for appealing this DVRO against me. Thank you Mr. Kassman for giving me some hope.

Took time to review

Mr. Kassman responded to my Appeal question about filing documents. The court document told me to do one thing, but the law says another, and he found the answer! He looked outside the posted question and reviewed the link I sent him and corrected me. This is more than expected. Thank you!

Sample of Legal Cases

People v. Morgan

Victory for my client. The Court of Appeal held that my client had unlawfully been denied opportunity for legal research. Court vacated the restitution order and remanded the case for a new hearing.

Monfiglio v. Rodriguez Canal

Complete victory for my client. The Court of Appeal reversed the judgment as to the damages awarded to our opponent but affirmed the judgment as to the damages awarded to my client.

People v. Madrid

Complete victory for my client. The Court of Appeal held that the officer's stop of my client's car violated his Fourth Amendment right to be free of unreasonable seizures. The conviction was reversed (168 Cal.App.4th 1050).

People v. Ramirez

Complete victory for my client. The Court of Appeal held that the police had no reasonable basis for believing client was armed and dangerous, which the Fourth Amendment requires for an involuntary pat-down search. The conviction was reversed.

Samson v. California

United States Supreme Court granted my petition for certiorari (that is, agreed to hear the case). At that point, I stepped aside and allowed more experienced Supreme Court attorneys to take the lead. We ultimately lost by a 6-3 vote (547 U.S. 843).

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
