I've used Mello & Pickering since 2021 and have never regretted it. They are an excellent firm with class, expertise, and care. I've had the honor of having Jessica Pellerin represent me over the last two years, she is an impeccable attorney. She is incredibly thorough, researched, patient, forward t...hinking, prepared, empathetic, and always always centers the child's best interest. She'll fight for you while never ever losing sight of the child and has great insight into what a judge is likely to do. She has represented me from issues ranging from a move-away case, school placement, and holiday schedules. As a gay mother who remarried a woman, I was concerned about how homophobia from my ex-husband might play out at our hearing but she handled the topic with so much care and of course, expertise on the law. I would recommend her to anyone, especially those that have complex cases. I would recommend this firm over and over.

Jessica was the calm, smart, and knowlegable friend who protected me and my son when I was scrared, depressed, and angry at end of my relationship with his mother. My son's mother threatened that our son would live with her, and I would only be allowed to see him when she saw fit. I was devastated an...d demoralized at the idea of not being able to see my son. I was a shambles when I sat down for my first appointment with Jessica. I'd never worked with a lawyer before: was it going to be all business, or could I share my fears, grief? Jessica made space for me to reveal to her the wreck that I was. It was vital to me to show her how important my son was to me, how scared I was by the threats our son's mother had made. She let me know she'd dealt with other fathers as scared as I was, that she understood the fear the legal system can inspire when a parent is already in fight-or-flight mode because of the end of a relationship. Then she walked me step-by-step through how the process goes, never impatient at having to re-explain the details to me. It was also important to me that I remain a “good guy”. I didn't want to do any character assasination to my son's mother, I didn't want to be adversarial in court. Jessica agreed with me, and together we crafted all communications with the opposing counsel, and the court. We won, but even if I hadn't I wouldn't regret having hired Jessica. After my experience with her, I don't believe there is anyone who could have done a better job.

I was so scared, lost and unaware of so much when I first met with Jessica. She was so kind, patient and understanding as I figured out my next steps in my life. Her firm was recommended to my by a family member, and I couldn't have asked for more. Jessica always had my back, and made sure I understo...od everything I was signing. She explained everything so that I understood what was going on, which is so important when going through a divorce. It is a difficult situation, an emotional roller coaster for sure. She was always aware of that, and never pushed or judged me. She always responded to emails and set up phone calls promptly. We managed to get the divorce wrapped up quickly, and that is exactly what I wanted. Jessica is incredible!
