Dislike more than my ex-employee

Dan Pyne represented me, as a business owner, in an employment theft of clients case. I learned the hard way, that my case never had a chance. But, Mr. Pyne never suggested that, instead he went on to bilk me for over $100,000 of billings. And, it's not just that, but how he did it. First he bille...d me for over $50,000 in legal fees, though got my ex-employee to pay a settlement of $30,000. (A loss, but not too bad and lesson learned). But then my ex-employee filed a claim, that the $30,000 was not justified. (Even though Pyne had purportedly settled the matter, in the prior case. But, unfortunately Pyne left open an issue, that at the time of the prior settlement, he said not to worry about). So, for this case #2 for $30K, Pyne said it would cost less to defend and we were on solid ground to win. I replied, if at any time it looked like his billings would go over $30K, to stop and I'd rather take the loss to pay my ex-employee the $30K. Unfortunately, Pyne went on to bill me what I'd call a slow drip then flood. He billed me approximately $1K/mo - $2K/mo for several months. Then once he got me invested to the tune of approximately $10K, he then said to ramp-up for mediation, I would be another $10K. At that point I felt invested, and with Pyne telling me we were on solid ground to win, I then felt I had to continue. Well you guessed it, at mediation, Pyne admitted to me that we were not likely to prevail, and he advised me to settle...for the full $30K. So I did. And, then Pyne sent to me his final bill. In total it cost me $50K for this case #2, to defend against a $30K claim. Which the $30K was the settlement that Pyne "won" in case #1, but failed to defend against in case #2. Summary: The only winner here is Pyne, $100,000 in billings for a case that was on shaky ground to start; settled for $30K; failed to defend the settlement; and each time created billings in excess of the case value of damages, while concealing the billings potential and their escalating costs.
