I hired Ms McManus and am extremely happy I did so! She is very sweet and compassionate as well as aggressive! My first meeting with Sandy lasted almost an hour and she didn't even charge me! I read her reviews and have to disagree with a prior review saying their case went on forever. Courts only address so much at each hearing which was not her fault. Her rates are more than fair and I would highly recommend her to anyone in need of representation!
I hired Sandra for a child custody case, and I was extremely happy with her knowledge, professionalism, advice, and the outcome of my case. She has a great rapport with the other Santa Clara County attorneys as well as with the Family Court Judges. I would highly recommend her to my friends and family.

Tough and knowledgeable, comforting and honest
Sandy has worked on 2 divorces for me. She'll be working on my prenup first if I ever marry again!
The first case she gave me such comfort because we could work together in her office and it did not seem like such a mystery. She was tough and effective. The other attorney had to step off the case after Sandy pointed out some questionable antics. Tough and knowledgeable. Comforting and honest.
The second case the other attorney seemed to be snowing us with paperwork to bring up their clients bill. I could see it and thought the OTHER SIDE was sloppy, dishonest, and ineffective in comparison to Sandy. Sandy is accurate, honest and effective.

Great Lawyer to start with, or keep if you have a "normal" opposing attorney in Family Law matters.
Five years ago, Ms. McManus and I were up against a famous high conflict attorney until I was drained of all funds by the process and forced into Ex Parte. In the past two years, I have sent three friends to her who have been happy with her. She is probably not the aggressive scorched-Earth type, and as long as that is not your competition, you will probably do just fine with her. If you do have that in your opposing attorney, she is a very good place to start and may help you find a better attorney. This assumes of course that there are no winners in Family Law anyway.

Time constraints
Sandy is a sweetheart and a good lawyer. Unfortunately, she is a 'one woman show' and has some health problems which, together, make her less than timely with her commitments. My divorce could have been done in six months and it is now 10 and counting. I had to fire her recently to get the job done in a reasonable time frame. Her fees are very reasonable, so if you are not in a huge rush to get things done, she is lovely to work with.
