This lady never even knew my name--i had to have her change the name in the contract to my correct name. She was supposed to represent me. I contracted/engaged with her in 2011. I have met with her twice and i have tried to contact her through snail-mail, email, and telephone. She's not dead as f...ar as I know. When i mentioned her name to another attorney, it seems she has a reputation of which i was not aware. DO NOT USE THIS WOMAN! You will be deeply disappointed. It is 11-6-13 and i have not heard from her.

In today's market it is very important to have expert legal assistance when considering signing employment contracts. Recently I needed an attorney to review the content of my past employment contract and to assist me with the terms of a new contract with the employer. Margaret reviewed the contract ...the same day and spent time detailing the problems with the employment contract that needed to be addressed. She is the most knowledeable attorney I have ever had assist me. I was so glad I met her as a member of the Chamber of Commerce. Since then I have recommended her to other friends who have been extremely pleased and have thanked me for the legal services she has provided them.

After an initial consultation, we agreed to proceed with my case. I submitted a check for a substantial retainer. Big mistake. At the meeting where we agreed on the retainer, we laid out a calendar of actions. The first action, due a week later, was missed. And missed. And missed. Emails were no long...er returned. Phone calls were not returned. Requests for refunding the retainer were ignored. Only when I wrote a formal letter with a clear statement that I would initiate legal action to get the retainer fee refunded was there a response. The response was sufficient - a check arrived for the amount of the retainer - but it was not accompanied by any explanation of why, after taking my money, there was no action on any of the commitments nor any communication.

In 40+ years of being in the business world, many of them running my own companies, I’ve worked with many attorneys. Some good, some not so good. But there were very few that I would consider excellent. Margaret Akdeniz is one that I would classify as truly excellent. In 2010-2011 my wife had an... issue as an employee of a leading high tech company here in Silicon Valley. As an individual born in a foreign country (English is actually her third language) communication can sometimes be a challenge, especially when it comes to exploring legal options. Margaret was incredibly professional and patient with my wife. Explaining all the finer legal points of what needed to be done. She was available whenever either of us called to speak with her. If we left a message it was always promptly returned. When I complimented her on her attention to detail she replied that it was a combination of her childhood and her years as a Commander in the U.S. Navy. Bottom line: She knows her stuff. A fighter on her clients behalf. Probably the best attorney I’ve ever dealt with.
