Sara Elizabeth Coppin

Attorney Sara E. Coppin has spent nearly 20 years helping clients address challenging immigration and criminal law matters. For more than 15 years, her practice has included family-based immigration, naturalization, and post-conviction relief for non-citizens. She also works closely with criminal defense attorneys to help clients understand and address the potential immigration consequences of an arrest or conviction.

Her practice primarily focuses on non-citizens facing criminal charges that could put them at risk of deportation, as well as individuals dealing with complex family immigration matters. Sara has extensive knowledge of how a criminal case can affect a person's immigration status in the United States. She takes the time to explain complicated legal issues in clear, understandable terms and approaches each case with both compassion and attention to detail.

When working with clients, Sara looks beyond the facts contained in a police report or court record. She takes the time to learn about their background, family circumstances, employment history, personal challenges, and the events surrounding their charges. Understanding the person behind the case allows her to present the court with a more complete picture of the client's circumstances rather than focusing solely on a single incident.

Sara began handling select cases for Lamano Law Office in 2018 before officially joining the firm as Of Counsel in 2026. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of California, Santa Cruz, and her law degree from the University of California, San Francisco.

Outside of her legal practice, Sara enjoys spending time with her family, caring for her horse, and spending time outdoors.
