Review for Rafael Climaco

Rafael Climaco is the best attorney I have ever worked with. He communicated with us in an effective and timely manner, kept us updated with the progress of our case, and we felt supported throughout the entire process. We felt that he went above and beyond for us, and at all times we felt like he wa...s personally invested in helping us out. I wish all attorneys were as diligent, caring and professional like him. We honestly only have positive things to say about him. Every time a friend or family member needs an immigration lawyer we always recommend and rave about Rafael; he is truly a one of a kind lawyer!!

did not have the knowledge to take my case but continued to charge me

I hired this lawyer because he had been referred to me. He was my lawyer for three years. I have a complicated immigration case. I had questions about my possible US citizenship. Climaco could not give me a straight answer for years. He continued to push my case aside without an answer. I paid ...him close to $1000 for nothing really. After finally giving me the paper work to apply for citizenship something told me to get a 2nd opinion. I met an experienced immigration lawyer who consulted with me for an hour, reviewed my case and in that hour (which she charged me $100) gave me the answers Ive been looking for. She was honest with me. Broke down all the information. Told me the consequences if I do file citizenship papers. She gave me her professional opinion and sent me on my way to make a decision. Climaco wanted to file my papers in the hopes immigration would hold me, and then Id have to pay him $$ to fight my case while I would be help for possible deportation. In my opinion Climaco robbed me of my hard earned money. If he did not do it purposely then he did not have the knowledge to take my case. If he was un-knowledgable he should have been straightforward with me. Also my new lawyer found it funny how he charged me for every letter he sent to me. He sends lots of letters so get your check book ready to pay. Perfect way to get more money from me. He also charges for phone calls too. I would not refer him.

We were sorry to hear that this client had a negative experience with our office and the services rendered. Without violating any attorney client privilege, the immigration issue presented in this client's case was very complicated and accordingly, there were multiple considerations when determining the best path to resolution. Our office steadfastly communicated the complexity to the client, both orally and in writing, in order to present options to the client, none of which the client choose to pursue. When the client ended the engagement, it was represented to our office that it was on good terms but they wished to take a different approach. As a courtesy to them, our office promptly returned all fees that were paid. Therefore, while we wish that the client had been more satisfied with the information provided, the factual circumstances are different than represented in the review. We wish this client the best of luck in the future.
