Let me tell you that I didn't know a word of divorce when I had to start the paperwork for divorce.I was a crying mess, alone in this country, in an abusive arranged marriage that was wrong in many ways. I didn't know law at all. I hired another lawyer and that turned out to be so bad. After being fe...d up with that lawyer as she was only adding misery to my pain, I approached Ms.Padania and asked her if she could take over my case. My case was just a simple financial divorce. It was a short marriage, no kids. But I didnt have a penny in my so-called marriage. It was very very mentally, verbally, financially abusive. At that time, I needed someone to guide me through the process and get my fair share of financial compensation so I can restart my life from scratch. I didn't have a job, was still studying, was penniless and homeless when I moved out. Lucky for me, from the time Ms.Asha took over my case, it was like a heavy burden was lifted off of my shoulder. I was still a little skeptical as to whether I was being guided the right way or not as the previous lawyer just ripped me off(when I was literally broke and borrowing money to hire a lawyer). But after a few talks with Ms.Asha, she was nothing but very professional and uptodate with the law and always always did her homework before approaching me or the other party. I believe she is a fairly busy attorney and yet never has she ever given me the side treatment that my case was less important or easy etc. She always has the best words to use. Even when the other party was uncivil or unprepared and lashing out at her and me, she responded so professionally. She is an amazing amazing person and professional. The opposing party was literally dragging the case and unwilling to settle and come to terms with the financial settlement. It dragged on for 3.8 years(longer than my marriage). There were times I was sure I wanted to take the case to court which would've been expensive and not worth it. So, she guided me to settle. I still remember her patiently telling me the pros and cons of going to court, not to mention me having to come out of town as well. She has been an asset in my case. She got the opposing party to respond -after 8 months of silence and no response at all. I had to tell her she needs to harder on the opposing party as they were unprofessional and nasty in their replies and behaviour. Not to mention the opposing party changed attorney from one incompetent to another incompetent and so the case dragged. The sitting judge who was trying to mediate was also pretty frustrated with the lack of knowledge and preparation from the opposing side. At that time, Asha shined and she came so prepared and she was nothing but professional with every answer to every question and more. If I learnt anything, she can be as tough as she needs to be but in a professional way. Thats a rare quality to have in the present world. She has been nothing but the best. Literally what could've been over in less than a year got dragged onto 3+ years by the opposing party's tactics. Yet having Asha representing me made all the difference between having sleepless nights to knowing I'm well represented and my rights are well represented. I even hired a financial advisor and she worked in sync with the her as well. The 3 of us were a good team and it worked well.
