won't follow thru been 1 year and still don't have my trust

A number of years ago I purchased a trust with Mr. Borris at an auction (paid quite a bit). We met and it was not completed for a variety of reasons at the time. I follow up with him and year ago and was happy to find he was going to honor completing the trust/will etc. Well that was OVER a year ago..., I call him regularly over the last year and each time he says "I am going to get it out to you in the mail in a couple of days" very friendly, apologetic. and then nothing. I still don't have it, he reports he has many problems in his life right now that make it hard for him to follow thru, but again promises to send it (did actually send it at one point but did not include my daughters name correctly and I asked him to correct a few errors, simple you would think.). Basically I just want the trust done or to be told, I'm not doing it you are just out of the money go somewhere else. I am happy to remove this if you would just complete what you have on multiple times agreed to do.

COMPLETELY UNTRUSTWORTHY!

Mr. Borris assured us he could, in no uncertain terms, take care of two separate legal issues, in which time was of the essence. Not only did he NOT handle either of the time sensitive issues but he also strung us along for months! He wouldn't return calls or emails & when we finally were able to mak...e contact w him, we had to spell out everything which had already been spelled out in previous conversations or emails. He eventually stated that he had a serious health issue, which I was extremly sympathetic too. I asked him if we needed to find another attorney? Again, Borris assured us that he could handle our legal issues. He continued to be non respondent to any attempts to make contact w him to get these issues resolved. We finally had had enough & fired him as our attorney. We wanted our money back! He refused! I filed a complaint w the State Bar & after a quite a bit of time & effort, we got most of our money back but ONLY WHEN THE STATE BAR GOT INVOLVED! I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND this attorney!!

I was hospitalized for almost all of 2020 with a spinal infection, a 9 hour surgery, and then C DIFF (c. dificle, an intestinal infection, caused by a 30 day antibiotic drip given me following the surgery to rid me of the Staphylococcus Aureus infection in my spinal canal . All the client's complaints were during this time and I was not made aware of them until early 2021 upon returning to practice full time. I voluntarily returned $3,500 to the client notwithstanding having completed virtually all the work, including getting them their share of equity out of the home in a trust held by the client husband's sister. This posting is completely unfair and misleading.

VERY POOR LEGAL REPRESENTATION AND REFUSAL TO RETURN RETAINER

I initially contracted with Attorney Robert Borris via my insurance program about 10 years ago. Then his work was sloppy and often late. However, as he had background on my issues so I continued to contract with him and his sloppy work got even worse. He is a "glad hander" Will spend more time gettin...g to know you and discuss your interests in lieu of doing effective legal work. The latest was a simple case that should have been negotiated but he managed to get it into the court system. Then when he found out I had more disposal financial resources his estimate jumped from $1,500 to $20,000. He also guaranteed an hourly fee of $225 per hour but billed me for $300. Per hour. He was so unresponsive I ended up having to make contact with the attorney who represented the other person involved. I initially paid him $1,500 retainer and later another $1,500. Because he did not return phone calls, emails, letters I cancelled his “services” and demanded a return of the second $1,500. He has refused to return the funds and now I have to contract with a capable attorney to continue my case. This is particularly difficult as am in very poor health and in and out of hospitals on a regular basis. There is more and I can be contacted at [email protected] Your Desired Resolution: Return my latest retainer of $1,500 as no work was performed and I canceled his services This case will be reviewed by a complaint specialist at the Better Business Bureau, and then forwarded to the business for their response. It is our policy to allow the business 10 working days to respond to your complaint. You will be notified when the business has responded. What would you like to do next? This was a very problematic client with serious anger issues. He had a restraining order put against him which was extended to 35 years. I've never seen this in 37 years of practice. Sour grapes, nothing more, nothing less.
