Herbert Ferdinand Layton

Mr. Layton has practiced family law since beginning his practice in December of 1991. He handles all aspects of family law, including divorce, support modifications, custody and visitation issues (including international aspects of custody and visitation), paternity and non-paternity, adoption, as well as domestic violence protection and defense.

Mr. Layton has recently litigated real estate fraud cases involving sales and loan by predatory real estate agents, obtaining six-figure verdicts in favor of his clients, as well as one seven-figure verdict. He also also successfully represented real estate brokers by defending them against unfounded claims. Mr. Layton has also represented clients in civil rights actions, business litigation, personal injury claims, and other tort and breach of contract lawsuits.

Mr. Layton has recently litigation to a successful resolution a religious corporate dispute, which involved several appeals and writ petitions to the court of appeal. He also advises corporate clients in the formation of corporations, LLCs and partnerships, as well as ensuring corporate compliance.
