Jonathan W. Nightingale began his legal career as an undergraduate at the University of California Santa Barbara where he interned for California Rural Legal Assistance, Inc. Here he got his first taste of legal work while litigating on behalf of indigent clients in the areas of housing, education, and health care. After college, Jonathan worked as Congressional Aide in Washington D.C. before deciding to move back to California to attend law school at Santa Clara University.
During his time at Santa Clara, Jonathan developed his family law skills while working for both the San Francisco City Attorney's Child & Family Services Team and the San Mateo County Superior Court's Family Law Facilitator's Office. While working for San Mateo County, he led free divorce and landlord/tenant clinics for local residents. Jonathan also gained experience in international business and contract law as a Summer Intern at GSI Meridian, a large corporate law firm in Istanbul, Turkey.
It was also during Jonathan's time in law school that he began working for the Law Offices of Marilyn A. Young, an estate planning attorney with over 40 years of experience in San Francisco. Jonathan still shares an office with Marilyn and works as an affiliated attorney for her practice.
