Miles B. Cooper focuses on prosecuting large exposure cases and complex civil jury trials. He is frequently asked by other lawyers to consult, associate, or substitute into cases as trial counsel or help with cases that are likely to try.
Cooper has resolved numerous cases with seven-figure verdicts and settlements. His clients typically are the catastrophically injured—individuals who have suffered injuries that prevent them from returning to their chosen occupations—and families who have lost loved ones. He has represented truck drivers, laborers, electricians, doctors, airline mechanics, small business owners, and other professionals. He also prosecutes cases involving legal malpractice, wrongful death, corporate fraud, and very select business litigation.
In addition to trial work, Cooper assists with firm marketing efforts and implementation of technology to improve firm efficiency and presentation at trial. He is frequently asked by various organizations to make presentations and publish in his areas of expertise.
When not litigating catastrophic injury or death cases, Mr. Cooper volunteers with the Bar Association of San Francisco’s pro bono programs, serving as trial counsel for disenfranchised tenants faced with losing their homes.
Cooper obtained his law degree from the University of San Francisco in 2000. He graduated with a B.A. from the University of California at Berkeley in 1996 and decided to set roots in the Bay Area. He is a second-generation Yosemite native and now lives with his wife, also a lawyer, in an old Victorian in San Francisco.
