Marinus H W Goossens

We are a client of Marinus Goosen’s and hired him to create our estate plan. As part of this service he agree to be available to answer questions and assist with updates as our lives progressed. Unfortunately, communications with Marinus became significantly delayed and are now non-existent. Communic...ation is so poor that we can’t even confirm if he is a practicing attorney after 6 phone calls and multiple emails. Trusts are living documents which require maintenance and it’s critical an attorney be available for that future maintenance. Our lesson learned is to pick a group that has been around for a while with a clear succession plan.

I really enjoyed working with Mark and he did a fantastic job on our Estate planning. When we finally met with him he took lots of time to make sure my wife and I understood every detail. His work was top notch, and his prices are very reasonable.. I shopped around a lot before choosing Mark, and he... was not the cheapest, but far from the most expensive.. The only problem we had was he would sometimes not respond to my emails and phone calls, and that got frustrating at times.

I was appointed Executor of my best friend’s Estate in his will. After my Friend’s demise I consulted a number of attorneys but they would neither take my Probate case nor talk to me at all. Mr. Goossens talked to me and set up a consultation after the first phone call. The Estate of which I was Exec...utor had unique problems and challenges. At our first consultation Mr. Goossens was able to understand the problems quickly and map out a strategy to meet the various challenges. Mr. Goossens successfully met each challenge. Months after Mr. Goossens started the Probate procedure additional challenges concerning my friend’s State taxes were presented by the State Franchise Board. Mr. Goossens successfully guided me through these unexpected State tax problems. He also guided me through the closing of my friend’s Tax accounts, both the State and the Federal. If a question was raised by a beneficiary Mr. Goossens quickly and tactfully answered it through their attorney. If a problem was presented by a beneficiary Mr. Goossens quickly and tactfully resolved it through their attorney. The Probate of my Best friend’s Estate was handled professionally and tactfully by Mr. Goossens despite a number of unique problems and challenges. I would highly recommend Mr. Goossens to anyone with an estate that needs to go through Probate.

Mark made the creation of my Trust straightforward and easy. I realize now that I anticipated it to be much worse than it was. We met initially, where he explained the process and I decided to go forward. His dropbox questionnaires led me through the process well. After looking over his draft and mak...ing a few edits very easily online, it was done. We met one more time where I signed everything and I especially appreciate how he scans every page as I'm signing to give me on a CD as well as my hard copy. I walked out of the office with everything completed. He is readily available when I call with a question and I've already recommended him to several friends.

Very thorough estate plan. Marinus provided the complete package: information, guidance and legal documents. He patiently answered all our questions and included explanations of the reasoning behind the answers. He also kept us on track through periodic reminders to submit documents and revisions. Im...portantly, Marinus remains available to answer new questions that come up even after the final plan is delivered.
