Biography
My law practice focuses exclusively on bankruptcy law, estate planning and tenant rights.
As a bankruptcy attorney, I handle cases all over the State of California in the Northern, Eastern and Central districts.
I have been a licensed attorney handling bankruptcy cases before the United States Bankruptcy Court for more than 24 years. My goal is to make bankruptcy affordable for my clients, who I know are already facing tremendous financial challenges. I also strive to be accessible to my clients, and handle their cases expeditiously in a caring and sensitive environment. I will hold your hand throughout the process, making it as painless and understandable as possible.
As estate planning attorney, I enjoy preparing custom estate plans for my clients with small to medium sized estates that help ensure the orderly distribution of their assets upon their death, according to their wishes.
As a tenant rights attorney, I assist clients in resolving disputes with their landlord, including security deposit disputes and early termination of leases.

I also do a fair amount of teaching. In addition to teaching bankruptcy law to other adults, I have taught every grade from kindergarten through 12th grade. I love working with young people and act as a fill-in teacher at various schools in San Francisco and Oakland. I also served as Assistant Dean of Middle School at French American Internationa School during 2022 and 2023.

Replied last May 12, 2014This was a case involving the removal of a second mortgage lien. The lender took more time than usual to remove the lien. To sue the lender in bankruptcy court before the time was right might have adverse results as the judge would want to see that we first made an effort to resolve things directly with the lender. It took four months, but we ultimately got them to remove the lien and did not have to go the litigation route.
