Jody Ann Meisel

Admitted to practice before all State Courts and all Federal District Courts in the State of California.

Legal Accomplishments:

Ms.Meisel, admitted to practice in California in 1983, practiced bankruptcy  and general civl litigation for over sixteen years. This practice included many sucessful bench trials. Ms. Meisel successfully represented both financial institutions and consumer and commercial debtors in San Diego and Los Angeles. This included a successful bench trial on behalf of a U.S. Trustee in Bankruptcy which was Ms. Meisel's first trial. 

Ms.Meisel also developed skills in family law, residential and commercial landlord/ tenant litigation, contracts, probate and immigration.  

In 1999, after relocating to San Francisco, Ms. Meisel joined Ms. Alioto at the Law Offices of Mayor Joseph L. Alioto and Angela Alioto as co-counsel in fighting for the civil rights of clients and representing employees in employment related litigation. Since then, Ms. Meisel has settled over approximately 60 cases with Ms. Alioto and taken two others to successful jury verdicts.

In 2001, Ms.Meisel was co-cousnel with Ms. Alioto in  F. Alioto Fish Company, Inc. v. City and County of San Francisco. Jury verdict of over three million dollars. Port Commission red tagged and attempted to illegally evict commercial tenants at Fisherman's Wharf.

In 2004, Ms.Meisel was co counsel with Ms. Alioto in Ronald Lemke v. BCI Coca Cola Bottling Company of Los Angeles. Jury verdict  in the six figures based on disability and an award for emotional distress. 

In 2008, Ms. Meisel was the exclusive counsel for plaintiff in a substantial settlement in an age discrimination, harassment, wrongful termination case.

Since 1999, Ms. Meisel has developed a steady clientele  with Ms.Alioto focusing on employment cases. Ms. Meisel regularly litigates discrimination cases based on gender, age, race, disability, sexual orientation as well as harassment including sexual harassment , retaliation, whistleblowing and wrongful termination.

Ms. Meisel prides herself in the strength of the relationships she develops with her clients and the pride she instils in them when they are able to right wrong
