We notified our exclusive distributor for the State of NY that we we terminating our oral contract of approximately 22 years and appointing another exclusive distributor for out wine in that state. Our past distributor sued us for improper termination and requested the court to prevent the terminati...on for eighteen months. James Seff was our lead attorney and Pilsbury Winthrop had excellent personnel and a geat trial attorney in New York. James and Pilsbury were successful making our case iwith the New York judge, who agreed that preventing the termination was inappropriate and not consisten with the normal business practice in New York. The judge further agreed that the legal arguments presented by our old distributor were inapplicable. The legal arguments persented by our attorneys were judged as the convincing arguments. We considered the court action to be a total success for us. Our old distributor withdrew its case unilaterally and settled up all obligations. I called it a total victory, and said it was the most successful outcome I have ever experienced in court.
