As to the immigration field, I represent people in removal (deportation) proceedings.  I also assist small businesses in obtaining professional visas such as H-1Bs or L-1s for their employees.  I represent applicants for political asylum, and religious workers and individuals at all stages of the naturalization process.  Finally, I help people who wish to bring their family members to the United States.

In the Social Security field, I represent disabled individuals at administrative hearings and in federal court.

In both areas I have taken cases to the federal court and up through the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals.  I have listed a couple of the cases in my profile.

We all need an Excellent Attorney
I hired Mrs. Khan to handle my case and it was so smooth from start to finish from filing the paperwork, the time table how long it would take, if you want to remove all that stress that your under then move over and let her team drive the car this will be the best decision you ever made. Mrs Kahn should be rated at 10 stars and her assistant 10 stars the best decision I have ever made hiring her firm.

Great SSDI Attorney
Where do I begin, just received my first social security disability check. And I owe it all to the Law firm of Geri N. Kahn. I sleeked her services on the recommendation of my brother, who was denied on his initial SSDI application and Attorney Kahn helped him win his case after the first appeal. Attorney Kahn and her staff helped me fill out the initial SSDI application and I was approved on the first round. They were always happy to answer my questions and checked in on me regularly to make sure that things were moving along. They were well organized, kind, professional and pleasant. It was a huge relief to me to know that my case was in good hands. Special mention to Toni Dine, the legal assistant who helped me greatly along the process. (Note: The Social Security representative that handled my case, even went as far as commenting that the law firm did an excellent job on the initial application). I can honestly say that hiring them will be one of the best decisions of your life. I know it was for me. Don't hesitate to call them they can help you with your social security problems. https://www.gerinkahn.com/ B.Kim

Professional, Kind, Skillful, and Successful!
Geri Kahn and Tony Dine were most helpful in assisting us with my husband‘s disability claim. His claim had been rejected three times previously, but with the assistance of Toni and Geri, we were able to strengthen the case, work efficiently together, and ultimately my husband was awarded disability payments. The staff is exceptionally compassionate and responsive, and clearly has deep knowledge and experience in working with SSA. We are eternally grateful to them.

Excellent lawyer and winning team
This is a review about Geri Kahn (Atty at law) and her staff Toni Dine. I strongly/highly recommend her law firm. After being denied my application for disability benefits, I was recommended to her by my fellow veteran in the armed forces. She reviewed and took my case for appeal. She and her staff were attentive to my needs and took their time to talk and walk through my case. They are meticulous to everything in gathering all necessary materials for submission and wanted to make sure we succeed. We were expecting quite sometime before we heard anything. It did not take so long, and we won our case expeditiously (case by case basis). All because their team knows what they are doing and is highly competent. If you need someone to represent you in Social Security Benefits or immigration, The law office of Geri Kahn is the one that you need. Compassionate, understanding, giving you time of the day, and speaking to you whenever necessary is who they are. You can never go wrong with their successful team if you are being represented by them. They are winners. Best of the best. I give them five stars and two thumbs up.

Helped me win a favorable SSDI decision on appeal!
Attorney Geri Khan helped me win my disability case on appeal with the SSA, seven years after my initial filing for benefits. After I was denied benefits with a different attorney, I appealed the judge’s decision and was granted a new hearing. Then I found Attorney Geri Khan. Geri reviewed my case and suggested ways to strengthen my claim. I followed her guidance and it worked. My second hearing was telephonic, due to the pandemic, but Geri expertly laid out a convincing case showing how my disabilities had worsened and continued to prevent me from working. This time the judge agreed and issued a favorable decision. Had it not been for Geri’s experience, intuition, and familiarity with the SSA’s processes and procedures, I do not think I would have won my case. It is not easy to win disability benefits from the SSA, but your chances are much better with Attorney Geri Khan by your side. I highly recommend her to anyone seeking legal assistance with their SSDI claim.

Mrs
Ms Kahn was responsive and kind throughout the citizenship process. At the start I didn’t realize how difficult or lengthily it would be, and the changes under the current Administration impacted it more so. Without the help of Geri and her staff, I don’t know that I would have stuck it out. Thank you for all your help.

Calm, confident, and on top of things!
Geri and her team are the best! If you want to make your way through the social security disability maze, Geri Kahn is your guide. She was calm, organized, and on top of everything at my disability hearing. I couldn't have wished for a better lawyer.

Excellent Service
If you are looking for a lawyer who is not only knowledgeable in her field of law but who is also empathetic, understanding and accommodating, look no further than Geri N. Kahn. I started working with Geri from 2013 to 2018 when my case was finalized. Geri was with me on every step of my case, sharing information and answering all my questions. When my file was moved to a new State due to my relocation, Geri agreed to fly in and be with me during my interview process which was a nerve wrecking experience for me. She helped calm me down, was supportive and understanding to the mix of emotions I was going through. Even after the outcome of my case, and technically the end of my contract with Geri, she continued to support me and answer all my questions for moving forward. With Geri, I had a true advocate and I would recommend her to anyone looking to have a supporting partner for a lawyer.

A lawyer with a heart
Geri Kahn and her assistant, Toni, helped my husband get his permanent disability insurance. Applying for SSDI is no picnic in the park and we were ready for an extremely arduous and complex process, but instead it was just a walk up a gentle slope. We actually looked forward to our office visits to go over the paperwork. Everything was laid up front and explained as clear as day. She is welcoming and compassionate, but also completely honest about what to expect during the application process. She is a lawyer with a heart!

Great job !
What can I say, she was great. We came to her for help with my wife's disability claim. We thought this will take at least a year or two before any kind of decision would be made let alone a favorable one. Well to are surprise, not only did we get a decision within less than three months but she also got us a favorable one with back pay. Very very happy with the results and efficiency of Geri Kahn. We recommend her highly.

Geri Kahn
Working with Geri was an efficient experience. She hits all the marks in getting the job done. I am happy she was referred to me by a friend for my disability case and would use her again if needed for ssdi representation. I am more confident in finding a good independent lawyer than one from a large operation. Also she gave me advice which was in my best interest even though she would receive less compensation as a result.

Geri was very through when taking on my case. She went to great lengths to acquire specifics from the medical staffs involved in my care. Her office was very confident and sympathetic to my concerns. We succeeded in our goal beyond my expectations.

Excellent lawyer!
Geri Kahn has been extremely helpful in our immigration journey. My spouse and I had contacted different immigration lawyers in the US to help us with my immigration from Canada to the US. The sensitivity with which Geri handled our case and addressed our concerns is beyond words. She was always available to answer our questions. Very very thankful and grateful for all the help and support Geri has given us. We highly recommend Geri and her team if you are looking for someone who is a thorough professional with lots of experience and still very human and kind.

Timely, helpful and prompt advice
I reached out to Geri to get advice on immigration related issue. She was prompt and clear in explaining the process she would follow. Later she understood the issue in detail and provided timely advice on Skype as well as email. I liked how she did not limit her advice to legalese, but rather explained available options in plain English as well as provided her informed opinion. Her advice was never very overbearing, while leaving the choice up to me. When I followed-up with her on the same issue almost a year later, she was still very responsive and helpful.

Disability
I have been struggling for several years with several health problems. It took years and switching doctors and seeing specialts to start getting actual diagnosis for my illnesses from doctors. I had applied for ssdi and was denied on my own so i contacted geri kahn and she met with me and took on my case. I filed an appeal online with the help of her assistant Toni and was denied again, i recieved a letter from ssdi about having a video hearing but by the time i received the letter geri and toni had already made the decision without discussing with me first to refuse the video conference hearing. After 3 years i was finally scheduled for a hearing with an ALJ, i met with mostly Toni to go over what medical records were still needed and they also asked me to get functional capacity forms filled out from my primary care doctor and the specialist doctors i have been seeing. I was unable to get all my doctors to fill out the forms and return them to her office. I met again with geri the day of my hearing for abvery short period of time where i then for the first time found out the reason for my denial was due to my diagnosis didnt come until after my Date last insured. Geri instead of going over things with me during the time she asked me to be there early to go over the case aith her went into the hallway and and visited with another attorney she knew and talked about her upcoming vacation and had how she had asked the judge for an extension on a case because of her vacation but the judge denied the request. When she returned to the room she had me waiting for her in i asked her a few questions and realized quickly she was not listening to me because instead of answering my questions she stared at her laptop and just responded with uh-huh, uh-uh, ya and nodding her head not even realizing i had asked her questions. We were then seated in the room with the ALJ for the actual hearing and geri only asked me 1 or 2 questions and none of the questions had to do with why i did not have an actual diagnosis before my date last insured even though i had been seeing drs. Prior to the date The whole time for all the symptoms i had been having. She did not ask me about my craniotomy i actually did have prior to the date last insured and why the surgeons records of my visits said i was recovering well. It said i was recovering well because at that time it was normal for me to have the symptoms i had after brain surgery and it was normal to continue to have them for atleast 4-6 months after surgery. She did not explain the reason i did not go back to the surgeon after the fact was because he was a surgeon and did not give continual ongoing care and i had to get a referal from my primary care dr. to see a neurologist that provides ongoing care instead of a neurosurgeon. She did not explain that my hematology oncologist had told me i should see a rheumatologist for some of my symptoms but my primary care doctor refused to give me a referal in the online health record and messaging system the doctor uses. The ALJ had determined i would miss work approx. 1 day a month which is not a reasonable determination with my health problems and nothing was said to change the judges thoughts on how much work i would miss. Geri only asked me about depression which was the one thing i did not have a lot of medical evidence to back up. After the hearing was over i received an unfavorable decision due to the medical records not supporting a disabling diagnosis before the DLI. We are talking a difference of 4 months from when i started actually getting the diagnoses from the date i was last insured and i had been seeing doctors for my problems for a couple years previous to getting any diagnosis. Geri said she wanted to speak with me about my case after we received the unfavorable decision so i waited for her to call and talk to me, after apprx a week she called and dropped my case. Leaving me with little time to find help to go to appeals cnsl

Response from Geri Kahn June 11, 2018
I want to start by saying I really do understand this client’s anger. It is extremely distressing to all of us who work in disability that there are some cases that are denied even when an individual is genuinely disabled and no longer capable of working. I can only imagine how painful and frustrating this decision was for the client. I cannot discuss or respond directly to this client’s specific comments in the review without divulging personal information. I can say that we gave our all to this claim as we do to all our clients and, contrary to what many people may think, it is difficult to win a disability claim. One has to prove an inability to perform not only past work but any other work that exists in our national economy. For this reason, the percentage of cases approved nationally at the ALJ level is only 46%. I regret that the ALJ did not find this individual disabled.
