Mari completed her undergraduate education at the University of California, Berkeley with a major in Ethnic Studies and a minor in Education. She received her law degree from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law where she was recognized for her Pro Bono work and served on the Hastings Race and Poverty Law Journal. During law school, she externed for administrative law judges at the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, Department of Labor, and Merit Systems Protection Board.
Mari has served on the Board of the Filipino Bar Association of Northern California since 2013. She also serves on the Barristers' Committee of the California Employment Lawyers Association, the Diversity Committee of the Consumer Attorneys of California and regularly volunteers at the Legal Aid at Work's Workers' Rights Clinic.
