Mae Adkins

Upon graduating with honors, I have been representing clients in family law and general civil litigation matters since 2003, all over the San Francisco Bay Area.  My practice is now focused on family law matters and on mediating disputes both in the family law context as well as other areas (business, employment, real estate, elder care issues, contractual disputes, neighborhood disputes and more.)

Clients find me competent, straightforward, professional, trustworthy and communicative.  I am focused on resolving conflicts for my clients, while always keeping their best interest in mind.

My goal is to help clients confront their conflicts with courage, confidence, and foresight.  This is especially important in family law matters where avoiding conflicts or engaging in destructive ones can affect many lives for years to come.  It is also important in matters involving relationships among neighbors, roommates, co-workers, business partners, and others sharing space or common interests.  In these situations, conflict often simmers and causes significant damage over time when it is not carefully confronted and dealt with appropriately.

I pride myself on my dedication, the personal care andattention I give to each client and each matter, and for my ability to serve clients bothlegally and holistically to help them find resolve and success through facing those conflicts.

I have handled numerous lawsuits toconclusion in such areas including breach of contract, fraud/misrepresentation,construction defect, business partnerships, real property, real estate,employment discrimination/harassment, family law, child guardianship, civil restrainingorders, contempt allegations, personal injury, professional negligence andinsurance coverage.  I have litigated matters in state court and appellate court, and have handledproceedings throughout various administrative agencies including the DFEH,DSLE, EEOC and CSLB.  I have also been ajudicial extern at the Northern District Federal District Court and a legal internwith the San Francisco Public Defender.  I graduated law school from U.C. Hastings in the top 10%.

These experiences, along with ongoing continuing legal education and mediation clinics, has provided me with both an especially broad and deep understanding of the nature of conflict and methods to resolve it.  Sharing the fruits of this experience and the skills I have gained to help others benefit is the ideal my business is founded upon.
