Shoddy work and terrible attitude.  Avoid at all costs.

Here it the detailed run down: Lack of Thoroughness: Attorney asked for the same paperwork (the G28 form) 3 times via email even though I attached it each time and explained so in the body of the email.  By the third email she asked me to mail it in because she needed original signatures.  If tha...t was the case initially it would've been more efficient to ask for this at the first email.  It was also clear from the interaction that she did not read our emails thoroughly.  Unprofessional Communication: Attorney S did not disclose her fees in the beginning. We assumed that the rate was $70/h based on the rates given to us by LegalAccess. After she has already finished a draft of a letter she was to send for us did she disclose that her fees were fixed at $350 for any interaction at all and $750 for the interview.  I then asked her to take no further action until I have cleared with LegalAccess.  After I cleared with LegalAccess, I decided against continuing with her services given the cost compared to the quality of service thus far. Unbeknownst to me however, she has already mailed in the letter without informing me.  That's fine, I thought, I would call her to settle the matter.   When I called Attorney S to initiate a dialog, she yelled at me for 10 min for refusing to pay her fees.  I have not done so, I was still trying to explain how the situation looked from my perspective.  The phone call ended with her hanging up on me.  I think I said ~35 words in our 10 min phone call mainly asking if she wanted to hear my side.  I'm not sure she heard any of them though, though my ears are burning on this side. I'll spare you the details of what I heard.

No mam. Once the G-28 is signed, you have authorized me to represent you. I emailed you the documents and you reviewed the same. I completed the work on your behalf once you authorized me to do so, as it was urgent. Then you did not want to pay for it and you completely disregarded the time spent on the numerous emails sent to you and all your family members. Not acceptable. Once work is done there is no bargaining. We offer professional services.

highly Recommended Immigration Lawyer for same sex marriage

After getting married to my long time partner who was on tourist Visa , I asked the the help of my company to find a good and trustworthy lawyer to help me in the adjustment of my spouse status , they gave me Atty Mercy Sequeira, I made an appointment with her, during the first meeting she m...ade very comfortable, she explained the process and our options , What I like with her was never was judgmental, she treated us with kindness and understanding . During the interview she was there to support us that include the 2 kids of my husband , consistently giving us updates of the current status of our case , until she gave the good news that everything went well and we got finally approved, She also promised that she will still help us with anything even after the approval gratis. Thank you Atty Mercy and more power to you .

Getting a K1 Visa from Mexico

Told me from the beginning about how much Time & Money it would take for a Fiance Visa (K1) from Mexico to go through. When we needed her most was when we were in Ciudad Juarez & needed paperwork, she came through everytime. Bottom line we got the green light for the K1 Visa because of her. Withou...t her I wouldn't of had the patience to do this by myself. Waiting is the hardest part & there is plenty of that , but when you know it upfront it's a little more tolerable. Communication is the most important part to me & she was on the level which was quite refreshing. Thanks for no "bad" surprises Mercy

Green Card for the Extraordinary Athlete

Mercy was the second lawyer I hired and needles to say my first experience with another immigration attorney was not so good. I think I had one of the toughest cases to pursue: EB1 category: extraordinary athlete (self petition). I had good qualifications and knew I could get my petition approved - I... just needed someone VERY professional and knowledgeable to help me build my case strong. Mercy was thorough in explaining my case in the greatest detail. I also appreciated that she worked on my case herself, it does make a big difference at the end. My first attorney helped me get only the Denial of my petition which was very heartbreaking. His work was very confusing and sloppy. Then Mercy came along. She was not afraid of the Denial of my petition that I got on the first try and assured me that we can make it work. A lot of immigration attorneys I consulted before Mercy, were not very positive about my case and told me to give up or try something different. Mercy gave me the hope and Im so happy I gave it a second try with her. My petition was approved and I got my green card a little later! I still cannot believe it actually all worked out after so many people told me to give up and that my case was not strong enough. If you believe in something very much, you will always get what you want. Many many thanks to Mercy. I will always be grateful for the chance I was given!
