Disorganized and Unavailable

I couldn’t be more disappointed in Michael’s efforts, of lack there of. He represented my boyfriend and I personally met and corresponded with him. He was very difficult to reach via phone and when I did he really didn’t give me any straight answers to my questions. This had nothing to do with attorn...ey-client privilege as I knew more details surrounding my boyfriend’s situation than he seemed to. I went to great lengths to help and even composed a letter to the judge which Michael assured me he would give to the the appropriate parties a week before my boyfriend was due in court. He didn’t. I ended up hand delivering my letter the morning before his court date to the probation office and requesting that his officer read it prior to the hearing. Prior to this I relayed that my boyfriend really needed Mr. Sganga to call him - he was in custody and couldn’t go to meet him and didn’t have success reaching him via telephone. Again, I contacted Mr. Sganga and urged him to please visit the jail to discuss the case and/or call him but he couldn’t be bothered. I attended two separate court dates and observed as Michael waltzed in mere minutes before the scheduled time and searched haphazardly through his bag for documents. He reminded me of a student who’d rolled out of bed and barely made to class with his homework not quite finished and had been cramming for a test because he was ill-prepared and didn’t have a plan or really care very much what grade he’d get because his parents were footing the bill. For a defense attorney he certainly didn’t “defend”. He didn’t fight for his client. It seemed like he’d given up before they started. Defeated before the verdict was ever given. If you don’t believe in your client or have the passion it takes to present their case and get the a desirable outcome then decline them and give them a fighting chance - don’t take their case because you’re looking for a payday. Poor form!

Look elsewhere

Mike comes across as a nice guy and believes himself to care and be doing the best by his clients. The truth is that he is not a very good attorney and does not get the best outcomes for his clients. He will not speak up on your behalf to a judge, does not work for getting the best deal for you and m...ostly just wants to be in and out of the court room as fast as possible. He's rather disorganized and instead of hiring help like a secretary or paralegal, thinks he can do everything himself which gives him little time to properly serve his clients. He gets worked over by other attorneys who are better organized and prepared. In the end, he's only concerned about getting his fees and taking on more cases than he can handle. Look elsewhere, you'd probably be better off with the public defender anyway.

"I endorse this lawyer. I have known Mike for 10 years. Mike is a great attorney, he is blessed with a wealth of knowledge about science. His understanding of science gives him the edge in representing his clients, because he is not afraid to challenge the prosecution's case and use their science against them. He aggressively represents his clients and provides his clients with the best defense possible."
