Biography
After working as an associate in two mid-sized firms for the first three years of his career, Mr. Osborn started his own office in 2008 with only one client and no staff. Since that time, Mr. Osborn’s personal injury practice has rapidly grown to become one of the most successful in the San Joaquin Valley. He regularly handles a wide array of catastrophic injury and wrongful death cases, including cases involving major trucking and auto accidents, fires and explosions, industrial injuries caused by third-party negligence, brain injury cases and cases against commercial enterprises for failure to protect their patrons from third-party violence. Mr. Osborn also handles insurance bad faith cases and has experience in litigating products liability cases.
Mr. Osborn has litigated cases in nearly every county in California and several other states throughout the Western U.S. To date he has obtained more than eight figures in settlements and verdicts on behalf of clients. Mr. Osborn is an active member of the State Bar of California, Los Angeles and Kern County Bar Associations, the Consumer Attorneys Association of Los Angeles, Consumer Attorneys of California and the National Fire Protection Association. In addition, he is a member of the Million Dollar Advocates Forum and Multi-Million Dollar Advocates Forum, two of the most prestigious groups of trial lawyers in the United States, whose members have won million dollar and multi-million dollar verdicts and settlements and whose membership consists of fewer than 1 percent of U.S. lawyers.
Actively involved in the community, Mr. Osborn is a member of the board of directors of JJ’s Legacy, a non-profit organization that provides education and creates awareness regarding the importance of organ and tissue donation to support families of Kern County. Mr. Osborn became involved with JJ’s Legacy after representing the family of “JJ” (the young man for whom JJ’s Legacy is named) in a wrongful death case following a tragic auto accident. The Law Office of Timothy M. Osborn frequently contributes to various charities, including, but not limited to, The American Cancer Society, Make-A-Wish Foundation, The Wounded Heroes Fund of Kern County, JJ’s Legacy, CSU Bakersfield Foundation, Women’s Club of Bakersfield, Saint Agnes Foundation of Fresno, St. Baldrick’s Pediatric Cancer Foundation,, Active 20-30 Club of Bakersfield, and the California Waterfowl Association.
Mr. Osborn obtained his Juris Doctor from Pepperdine University. Prior to law school, Mr. Osborn obtained his bachelor’s degree cum laude from Fresno State, where he attended on a football scholarship and was a three-time member of the Academic All Western Athletic Conference Team.
