Kathleen represented our family in a caring, competent and professional manner, she was always available, always willing to
listen, always able to answer any questions we may have had. Kathleen goes above and beyond for her clients and is a real pleasure to work with. Family law issues can be very stressful, working with Kathleen kept the stress to a minimum.
I hired Mrs. Barrett on a flat fee basis for a child custody & support trial, yet after being paid in full she withdrew half way through trial after being completely unprepared and negligent for the custody portion of trial causing extreme harm to my 2 year old daughter and me. To add insult to injury, Mrs Barrett came completely unprepared and failed to introduce key evidence to rebut discovery sanctions costing me a great deal of money for something that should have been easily defended against. Please think twice before hiring this attorney, especially if you have children involved, I can't even begin to explain how much I regret ever meeting Mrs. Barrett.
Family law facilitative mediation. I will advise parties of their rights and obligations and work with them to reach a fair and amicable marital settlement agreement, and handle child custody and support issues.

Lacks follow through
I have tried contacting Kathleen several times regarding my case. It always goes to voice mail and she never returns my calls. My ex also has a few questions and wanted to speak with her for clarification, but she refused to speak with him causing confusion regarding our custody order. Please find someone else, especially if you want to co-parent without issues.

Response from Kathleen BarrettAugust 26, 2016
I'm very sorry about your experience as this is not the way I intend my practice to function. In order to keep my fees low, I don't have an answering service but I try to return calls within 24 hours. Please contact me again so that I can work with you to resolve any issues regarding your custody order.
