Stephen Louis Mitnick

Stephen Mitnick is a quintessential attorney. My case lasted almost 21/2 years and resulted in a very fair decision mostly because Stephen through his wisdom and experience knew instinctively what was right and what was fair and never waivered in his negotiations on my behalf. What I also really like...d about Stephen is that he did not nickel and dime me for every call, fax or email, he was honest and forth right and always there when I needed him. He also maintained and help me to maintain calm in the midst of chaos. Stephen is a very nice person and I'm so happy I choose him and very thankful for the excellent job he did for me. I would have no reservations in recommending him!

Without reservation I would highly recommend Mr. Mitnick. He was able to make a very stressful time in my life a little easier to endure. Anybody who has been through a divorce will tell you there are no guarantees to the outcome of your case, but I had a tremendous peace of mind knowing that Mr. M...itnick was my attorney fighting for me. He constantly kept me up to date with my case, promptly returned all phone calls, and always asked how I personally was coping with everything. A very caring and honest attorney, which is rare in this town.

I worked with Steve on three separate matters for about a four year period after my attempts at mediation were unsuccessful. He got the jobs done quickly for the initial fees that were charged me. He always responded back in a reasonable amount of time, including his secretary, and they both treated... my case with the confidentiality and urgency I expected. I was referred to him by another lawyer who was far more expensive and I know I couldn't have gotten through those challenges without him.

I hired Mr Mitnick in 2006 and thought he was grand..but in 2013 I used him again and he charged me thousands and then told me 4 months in that I needed a QDRO attorney and he did not do QDRO's. It was all I needed and he had told me early on that the retirement division was not written up clearly... in the 2003 LegaL Separation and that had to be corrected. WHY didn't he till me then that all I needed was a QDRO attorney and that he did do QDROS?? Instead of charging me thousand of dollars for nothing . He told me to do my homework and I did,sending him link after link of the federal retirement plans with information for attorneys then he tells me he doesn't even do QDROS! WTH? Then I hired another attorney who earned her money, who is a QDRO attorney and all she needed was my original papers. He let the other attorney run the whole show. She "objected" to her client doing a discovery after she filed for me to do one. Why didn't Mr Nitpick object to me doing one!!? I honestly wonder if his own divorce has made him bitter toward woman or maybe he just needs to retire. I fired him and went to represent myself for my back support and won my case without him! I withdraw my previous recommendation and feel very disappointed in his conduct. Just grind up your money , mix it in your dogs food for at least your dog will get some fiber out of the money! For I honestly feel I got nothing for mine. He should be ashamed of himself, I don't know how he sleeps at night!

Steve didn't know anything about stock options I had to do all research. He doesn't know how to use basic functionality in Word to be able to track changes in the divorce document. I had to write my own Gavron warning as he didn't have an example language. He never provided pros and cons always ju...st advised taking the deal. I finally had to hire another attorney to review the document to ensure I was protected in the document. Doesn't return calls, doesn't call with new information. Keeps his dog in the office during meetings. Doesn't take notes during a conference meeting .
