Incompetent and dangerous

An utter rip-off. Hired a rip-off company CA Traffic Tickets and they hired this guy to do a traffic court case. DeJon Lewis had 2.5 stars on Avvo--which shows him to be a 'personal injury attorney' with 3 comments calling him incompetent and lazy--wow, I wish I'd seen those first because I agree.) H...e feels his only job is showing up in court in your place to PLEAD YOU GUILTY. He never spoke to me once until he was in court, never told us what was up with the case (apparently, it was being delayed for months because he requested date changes and then did not show had to find this out on our own by reading the online docket from the court). When he called the convo lasted all of 2 minutes, saying, quote: "Hi, I'm the lawyer handling your case. Do you prefer to lose your license for a month or pay a $1000 fine and do community service?" That was it. $650 down the drain. I would have never hired him myself, but he's who we ended up with from that fraud business--makes sense they would work together. We'll be reporting this guy to the bar association and suing him for malpractice. He should not be allowed to practice law. He did not inform me he would be pleading me guilty. Nor did he informed me I was "required to appear in court to show evidence of my service hours." He could have appeared on my behalf to present the evidence (after all, that's why you hire an attorney) but he didn't--just ignored my calls. Moreover, he told the referral service to tell me to mail in my hours. Had I done so, I would have lost my license. Bad lawyers are truly worse than none.

Worst lazy lawyer

This is the worst lawyer that i have ever encountered. Took my case we harldly spoke, couldnt give me any explanation on how the case was going.on court appearance lawyer did not defend my case nor did he ever fought in my behalf to explain my case .more he just gave up half way..would never recommend... this lawyer to anyone.

Capable

I was a lifer in California, first time to board. He offered me advice and gave me guidance. He also spoke up to the board with the one issue I had in the record that could have been interpreted as denial. I was found suitable on my initial and Mr Lewis was an outright professional. Furthermore I was... indigent and his counsel was provided. I couldn't have gotten more by spending money, my freedom has no price tag.

Traffic Ticket Representation

I hired Mr. Lewis and never once had the chance to speak with Mr. Lewis prior to either of the two appearances he made on my behalf and it was the Ventura County Superior Court Clerk who notified me that Mr Lewis lost my case at trial. Can anyone tell me how on earth an attorney proceeds to trial wi...thout once talking to a defendant? Is there any wonder as to why he lost? What made me most unhappy about Mr. Lewis was that he didn't even ask for traffic school for me.

Relationship: Fellow lawyer in community

"I strongly endorse this lawyer. I had the privilege of working with Mr. Lewis many years back and am familar with his excellent work in the courtroom as well. He has superb skills, extensive experience, and unmatched expertise in the field of personal injury law. More than that, in a field littered with attorneys I have met who think more about themselves than about their clients, he is a person of character and integrity, someone who you can trust to care about you as a client and fight for you in your case. You can count on him, no matter the obstacles. Mr. Lewis is my "go to" referral for clients and friends seeking the best possible personal injury attorney representation in Ventura County."
