I believe that ending a relationship should not mean destroying someone's financial future or their ability to move forward with their life. Family law matters can be emotionally and financially challenging, and choosing the right approach to resolving them is one of the most important decisions a person can make.
I am a California family law attorney and the founder of Zieman Law APC. My practice focuses exclusively on family law, and I am trained and experienced in multiple approaches to resolving family law matters, including litigation, mediation, and collaborative law.
I don't believe every family law matter requires the same level of attorney involvement. Some clients need an attorney to represent them throughout a contested case, including court hearings and trial. Others benefit from mediation, collaborative law, or limited-scope legal assistance that allows them to handle portions of their case themselves while receiving professional guidance where it matters most.
My goal is to help clients identify an approach that fits their circumstances, goals, and budget—without purchasing more legal services than they need.
Zieman Law APC offers full-scope litigation representation in Orange County, California, as well as limited-scope, behind-the-scenes legal assistance, mediation, and collaborative law services for California family law matters statewide.
My Background
Law is my second profession. Before transitioning to the practice of law, I worked as a classroom educator. While teaching, I pursued my law degree at Western State University College of Law, graduating third in my class and earning two Witkin Awards for academic excellence—all while continuing to work full-time.
My years in education helped develop skills I continue to use as an attorney: explaining complicated subjects in understandable terms, organizing information, communicating effectively, and helping people make informed decisions.
I have practiced law full time since 2014 and founded my own firm because I wanted the flexibility to help families navigate difficult transitions in ways that made sense for their individual circumstances.
Outside the office, I enjoy hiking and backpacking, especially when the adventure involves summiting mountains. You may also find me on the dance floor enjoying Salsa or West Coast Swing, or at the rock climbing gym, building skills to stay safe in the mountains.
I value personal growth, creativity, and the opportunity to keep learning.

Highly Recommend
I called Allison one week before finalizing my divorce to review court documents. I had completed all of the documents on my own through the court's self-help desk and wanted a "real" lawyer to look over my paperwork to present in court. Allison was a life-saver! She was thorough in her explanatio...
Thank you!
"Allison has an encyclopedic knowledge of the law and is extremely meticulous in her work. She is trustworthy and always willing to guide me whenever I need clarity on my own cases. I recommend her without hesitation."
"I endorse this lawyer. She is among the most thorough and organized lawyers I know. She has taken on many pro bono cases for Legal Aid. She has been very professional and handled those cases as if they were her only case."
