Jewels Juhee Jin

I wrote up a description of what had happended and Jewels immeditaly responded. I was in her office with in a day telling the facts of what had happened to my close relative who is dying. We are at the beginning of a court case which begins in a month. But I am very pleased with her enthusiasm and... knowledge of Federal Courts and victim rights. Over this past year my life has changed in a drastic way and not in the ways i ever imagined or wanted for myself. I was recommended to Jewels Jin . Ms. Jin was a great asset and advocate for a difficult and emotionally charged family law case. First, her initial consultation was provided at no charge. She laid out the various avenues and potential obstacles of each. She was very straight forward about her fees, and the range of hours involved..., based on several different factors. She was aggressive as I asked her to be, but calmed me down several times throughout three months of hearings. She was very savvy with all the other parties to the case, including the judge, family court services, and my ex-spouse. She has been very sensitive to privacy, my children, and current spouse. Altogether, she made a very slow and patience-testing process through the courts, bearable. Moreover, she helped shoulder the burden of stress that accompany most family law matters that cannot be settled outside of court.

I finally made the decision to stand up for myself and not allow a former friend to continue to take advantage of me. My case involved fighting for a housing deposit that was 12 months overdue. A former friend was taking advantage of her professional status, knowledge of the legal system, and financial resources to attempt to not return money to me. I navigated the small claims system and filed a small claims. I won part of the case and the judge granted a judgment to be paid to me. However, my former friend attempted to threaten to file a false lawsuit against me if I didn't drop the case. Then she filed an appeal to the judgment made. I was at a disadvantage financially and also because she was in the legal field so she had connections and a thorough knowledge of how the legal system works. This is when I sought out a lawyer to assist me with the small claims appeal process. I found Jewels who was supportive and cared about how I was clearly being taking advantage of after lending a hand to my former friend when she was in danger and needed a friend. Out of the four lawyers I received referrals for, I was most comfortable with Jewels because of her ability to explain the process, availability, and how approachable she is. It was so exhausting to try to represent myself because of the demands in my life in regards to education and career. And I understood that it was not wise to walk into an arena that I had not thoroughly studied and had experience in without professional support and direction. I was impressed by the direction she provided on the key points I need to make sure I voice to support my case and her ability to be direct, respectful, and appropriately persistent. I ask a lot of questions and I was very grateful that she was open to my questions. Jewels explained the pros and cons of the decisions I could make like when my former friend tried to settle for less than half of what she owed me. AND I AM VERY HAPPY THAT WE WON MY CASE!!!! This experience that was such a drag and took so much time initially ended up being well worth the battle to stand up for myself with Jewels representing me. Even when I was completely done, Jewels remained on top of things and followed up with me for documents that needed to be filed. All in all it was a great experience working with Jewels!
