I recently had an experience with Randall Johnson and his firm, Johnson & Associates, in connection with a legal matter involving a business dispute. Concerns About Legal Strategy ...& Approach In my experience, Mr. Johnson's approach appeared more focused on intimidation rather than engaging in a meaningful discussion or resolution of the underlying issue. I received a Cease and Desist (C&D) letter from his office regarding an online review I had written about a company with whom I had an unresolved dispute. Instead of addressing the concerns raised in my review or providing specific factual inaccuracies, the letter demanded that I remove my review under the threat of legal action. Issues with Communication & Transparency From my perspective, Mr. Johnson’s communication style felt aggressive rather than solution-oriented. The C&D letter cited claims of “trade libel” without outlining any actual false statements or providing evidence of malicious intent, which is a required element of a defamation claim. Given my understanding of consumer rights and free speech protections, I found the letter to be more of an intimidation tactic than a legitimate legal concern. Additionally, the email was significantly delayed due to improper email configuration on their end, which led me to question the firm’s attention to detail in handling legal correspondence. Legal Ethics & Professionalism I believe that a good attorney should balance advocacy with fairness and transparency. Threatening legal action over a consumer review—especially one based on personal experience—raises ethical concerns for me. Under the Consumer Review Fairness Act (CRFA), businesses cannot suppress negative but truthful reviews, and I would have appreciated an approach that was more in line with addressing concerns constructively. Final Thoughts If you are looking for legal representation that prioritizes intimidation tactics over open discussion, you may find Randall Johnson's approach fitting. However, if you prefer an attorney who focuses on resolving disputes in a constructive and transparent manner, I would suggest researching other options. This review is based solely on my personal experience and should not be taken as a blanket statement about Mr. Johnson’s overall practice.
