Michelle Marie West

Michelle M. West, is an attorney with Robinson Calcagnie Robinson Shapiro Davis, Inc., practicing in catastrophic personal injury law and wrongful death.

Ms. West has 12 years of professional experience, with seven years as an attorney atRobinson Calcagnie Robinson Shapiro Davis, Inc. Throughout her career, she has worked tirelessly for her clients who have suffered catastrophic personal injury or wrongful death. On a daily basis, she is responsible for handling product liability matters, as well as general negligence, premises liability, trucking collisions, defective machinery and equipment cases, and other matters involving catastrophic personal injury resulting in  amputations, burns, and traumatic brain injuries.

Prior to joining the firm in 2008, Ms. West practiced  business litigation,  dangerous condition of public property, employment litigation, premises liability, and product liability litigation, including automotive and aviation matters.  Ms. West has also worked on appeals and prepared appellate briefs for the California Court of Appeal and the California Supreme Court.

Ms. West became involved in her profession because she simply wanted to help people.  Originally, Ms. West dreamed of being a physical therapist who would provide assistance to individuals with limited mobility and movement due to disease and/or injury.  However, during her undergraduate schooling, while working full-time at a law firm, she realized that lawyers can, and often do, help people in need.   Having experienced first hand the way that lawyers help those who were injured, whether physically or financially, Ms. West changed her career goals, set out to complete law school, and never looked back.

Ms. West attended Pepperdine University School of Law in lovely Malibu, California and received a J.D.  graduating cum laude in 2003. She received several awards for achievement during law school, including the Witkin/West Group award for Academic Excellence for the highest grade in several courses, and the CALI Excellence for the Future Award.  She was recently inducted into Worldwide Registry for accomplished legal professionals.  Ms. West is also a member of the American Association of Justice, Consumer Attorneys of California, Consumer Attorneys of Los Angeles, the Orange County Bar Association, the Orange County Trial Lawyers Association, the Los Angeles County Bar Association, and the Women’s Lawyers Association of Los Angeles. She is admitted to practice before the California State Bar and the United States District Court, Central District. 

Looking towards the future, Ms. West is proud to be able to continue to provide legal services to those in need, as well as dedicate time to community involvement and pro bono work.  

Ms. West enjoys the community involvement, camaraderie and charitable support received by the communities and organizations from her athletic pursuits and participation, including well over 50 marathons (including Boston, New York, Chicago, Los Angeles and Paris), numerous half-marathons, half-Ironman distance triathlons, ten (10) full Ironman distance triathlons (for which Ms. West achieved Ironman All World Athlete status), as well as ultra-distance running and cycling events.  Ms. West is proud to have completed four (4) 100 mile runs (2 of which resulted in first place female finishes), numerous other ultrarunning events, and more than thirty-one (31) double century cycling events (200 miles of cycling in one day).  Ms. West loves her treadmill desk, which helps her maintain her fitness  with her busy work schedule.
