I had a very bad experience with Lisa Risner. She never filed a trial brief, which meant that all the representations made to the judge were provided by my spouse. Subsequently, I received MUCH LESS than I should have in every way. The result was all in my spouse's favor because my side of the story was never told. After I hired her, she had all my work done by VERY junior associates or by a part-time attorney. I think that she actually did not know the extent of the complexity of my case because she had not paid attention, and she was ultimately out-lawyered. It was very disappointing, and has had lasting consequences on my life, necessitating my move to a relative’s house out of the area because I cannot afford an apartment in Orange County. While the bloom was still on the rose, I had referred her to a friend, and the friend had to fire her because of lack of communication. Lisa had stopped calling my friend back entirely, even though they were scheduled to go to a conference and needed to work things out ahead of time. This was very embarrassing for me, and I felt somewhat responsible. I would caution you to NOT hire her because she seems to be all talk in the beginning, telling you how much she is going to do for you, and then dropping the ball when you really need her help.

I hired Lisa to handle my divorce. Throughout the process she helped me to remain calm and focused in what was an emotional and at times, volatile situation. Lisa’s ability to cut through the minutiae and guide me through the entire process greatly relieved my stress and took a great weight off my shoulders. Her attention to all details was, in my opinion, flawless.
Lisa’s sense of humor, calm demeanor and explanations saw me through one of the most challenging episodes of my life.
I would recommend her to any individual, male or female, who is in need of a family practice attorney.
