I have wanted to be an attorney since the days of Perry Mason. I got that chance to go to Law School when my two oldest sons were in college and my youngest son was in eighth grade. I did not know what kind of law I wanted to practice, even after passing the California Bar Exam. I think Family Law came to me and it has been my calling since 1996. While waiting for my Bar results, I became a Domestic Violence Counselor and I have continued to use that training in my law practice as well as in my volunteer life.
I was blessed to be brought up in a family that emphasized "giving back" instead of "getting stuff" and that has enriched my life ten fold. I love to travel and enjoy new worlds. I lived in Brazil for four years in the 70's and returned just two years ago for the first time in over 30 years. I was amazed at the changes in Rio de Janeiro. More amazing is the fact that I could still commucate in Portuguese.
I continue to learn as much as I can about Mediation and Collaborative Law. This is a gift to myself and to my clients. I am convinced that the "no court" approach to family issues is in the best interests of the family and I am proud to help facilitate resolution instead of litigation.
