Charges -- Domestic violence (Penal Code section 273.5(a)), child endangerment (Penal Code section 273a(a)) and false imprisonment (Penal Code section 237) Facts -- During a verbal argument with his ... wife, client was accused grabbing his wife and pulling her into the bedroom, locking the door and then throwing his 8-month old baby on the bed before pushing his wife in the chest. When his wife attempted to pick the baby, client pushed his wife again so hard that she landed on the bed on top of the baby. Client then allegedly grabbed his wife again and slapped her several times. The wife had bruising to her arms consistent with being grabbed and the baby had a bruise to her lower back. Wife told police client has abused her in the past. Client denied these allegations. Initial Offer – District Attorney initially wanted Client to plead guilty to all charges with 4 years probation, 45 days jail, 52-week domestic violence class and 52-week parenting class. Final Result – Dismissal of all charges through a “DA continuance”. Our attorneys had to appear in court 13 times before we finally got the case dismissed.

The ... police were called and JW was arrested and cited with battery on both PK and PK's son. Even though the police arrested JW, PK sought a civil restraining order against JW. At the restraining order hearing, Fred Thiagarajah aggressively cross-examined PK and proved that PK was the aggressor and JW was acting in self-defense. Restraining order was denied.

Client was charged with 4 separate cases for driving on a suspended license in violation of Vehicle Code section 14601. All of the cases were in Los Angeles County. Two cases were at the Airport Just ... ice Center and two of the cases were at the Beverly Hills Justice Center. Client was a permanent resident applying for citizenship. If he were placed on probation for any one of the offenses, he would be unable to apply for citizenship until his probation expired. Through extensive negotiations, our office got three of the cases reduced to infractions and the last case involved a terminal disposition, which means no probation. Defendant was given no jail time, no probation and only had to pay fines. Defendant was free to apply for citizenship.
