Facts – C...lient was driving his vehicle under the influence of alcohol. There were 9 people in his Lincoln Navigator, but there were only seat belts for 8. Most of the passengers were not buckled in. Client was involved in a high-speed collision on the freeway. His Navigator flipped over, 5 people were ejected from his vehicle and 2 died.
Initial DA offer – 4 years state prison
DA offer a week before trial – 2 years state prison
Court offer on first day of trial – D pleads guilty to all charges, 5 years probation, 1 year county jail, 200 hours community service, felony DUI terms
Final Result – Manslaughter charges dismissed & great bodily injury enhancements dismissed. 5 years probation, 1 day jail (this is not a typo), 200 hours community service, felony DUI terms and client can have felony DUI reduced to a misdemeanor in 3 years with no new law violations

Client involved in altercation with wife. Wife is bipolar and even though client accidentally pushed wife, she called 911 and made up allegations of abuse. Client arrested for felony DV.
