Susan Leigh Angell

Susan L. Angell, Esq. is an attorney practicing in Orange County California.  Her practice focuses on family law, and Nursing license defense disciplinary hearings, pharmacy license defense and landlord tenant real estate disputes.  Other interests include medical malpractice defense.  Sue can be contacted directly at or She is admitted to practice in California, the 9th district Court of Appeals, and the U.S. Supreme Court.  Sue has represented both husband’s and wife’s in divorce, custody, support and community property cases.  She has also defended hundreds of claims against nurses, nurse practitioners, skilled nursing facilities, hospitals, doctors and clinics and has defended premises liability claims on behalf of residential landlords and businesses of various types. She has been involved in hundreds of trials, arbitrations and mediations.  Sue is also a licensed Real Estate Broker knowledgeable in short sales and other real estate matters. 

Ms. Angell was raised in Ukiah, Mendocino County, part of Northern California's wine country, where her parents, (Vince Angell alumni of UCSF Pharmacy School and Margaret Angell Cal. Berkeley political science major then high school teacher), owned a local pharmacy and sparked her interests in both medicine and law. Sue graduated from the University of San Francisco, with honors in 1977, with a B.S. degree in Nursing, followed by a M.S.N. and Nurse Practitioner Certificate from California State University Long Beach.   Prior to law school she worked as a Nurse Practitioner and Director of Nursing, taught classes through the nursing outreach program at University of California Irvine Medical Center, and performed medical/legal chart reviews. She is a former member of the Orange County Health Planning Counsel. 

Ms. Angell obtained her law degree in 1996 from Thomas Jefferson College of Law in San Diego, graduating Cum Laude. While in law school she was a member of Law Review, received 3 American Jurisprudence awards and a CALI award for academic excellence. She also had the distinction of completing a Judicial Internship in Civil Law & Motion and was a certified law clerk for the San Diego District Attorney's Office.

Ms. Angell handles cases in Orange County and Riverside County California. Her practice is enhanced by her participation in the Orange County Bar Association family law section, TANNA So. Cal. Asso. of Realtors and the Orange County MLS.
