She needs help reading plain English

When your lawyer charged you a hefty fee for 'preparation', does that 'preparation' include the reading of the contract involved? I thought so but I was wrong. The more unbelievable part is, she need the tutoring of the opposing counsel to understand a simple term stated in the contract, in plain Eng...lish! Are you kidding me?

She reads only one contract, and that is not the contract you signed with the individual you are suing

The following unpleasant surprises are gifts from Kathleen. 1. When she passionately persuade you that you have a case, she has not read the contract you have signed with the party you are trying to sue. How do you find out? Virtually all her arguments are dismissed the moment the opposing council p...oints out the terms of in the contract. 2. After she loses the case, she will not even explain to you why what she said is so different than what just happens in the trial. In stead, she askes for more money from you, as is demanded by the contract between you and her, which seems to the the only contract that she spend her precious time reading. It is not completely true that she is cheap and you get what you pay for. She is expensive if you consider the number of hours she bills you, especially how hard she tries to make the trial as long as possible. Even with a cheap hourly rate, she is extremely expensive. It is not true also because since she loses the lawsuit, you have to pay the attorney fee for the individual you are suing.

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
