I cannot recommend Tiffany Chiu based on my experience. As a client with limited English proficiency, it was clearly communicated that I required explanations in Chinese before signing any legal documents. Although this was acknowledged in advance, no any effort was made to ensure I understood the ag...reement. I was instead encouraged to sign and make payment promptly. The initial consultation was brief and remained at a very general level – only went through the in-take forms that my daughter helped submit to her prior to the meeting. There was limited substantive discussion of my estate planning goals. The draft documents provided contained multiple issues, including grammatical errors, imprecise legal language, and provisions of self-appointed authority to her firm that did not align with my instructions. Significant revision was required before the documents could be considered usable. Additionally, I was billed $575 for a property deed transfer service that had been explicitly declined in advance. This charge was only reversed after it was brought to her attention. After terminating the engagement due to these concerns, the firm did not provide a reasonable refund and instead attempted to impose additional $1,000 fees for work that had not been authorized by me during our fee dispute. Given the importance of estate planning, clients should expect clear communication, accuracy, and respect for instructions. Unfortunately, that was not my experience here.

I cannot recommend Tiffany K. Chiu at Modern Wealth Law based on our experience. This was a flat-fee estate planning matter. The draft documents provided contained multiple deficiencies, including grammatical errors, imprecise legal language, and provisions (such as self-appointed Authority Structure...) that required substantial revision. More concerning was the attempt to impose additional hourly fees for reviewing client comments, despite no authorization and while the fee structure itself was being disputed. In a flat-fee engagement, this raises serious concerns regarding billing practices. We also encountered charges that were inconsistent with prior written client instructions. The matter ultimately deteriorated further due to unsupported assertions regarding “undue influence,” which were inappropriate under the circumstances. Overall, the experience reflected issues with work quality, billing integrity, and professional conduct.

Our family hired Tiffany to help us with the estate planning after the passing of our last parent. We found her to be outstanding. Competent, compassionate, professional. She has the skill to listen, adjust agendas while still ‘moving’ her agenda to get things done in a timely manner. ...I join my family in recommending her to anyone in need of this kind of service.
