does not do what she promised, takes the opposing side

I do not recommend this attorney for child custody cases. We hired her for my daughter in a custody case with my granddaughter in which the opposing side was asking for a modification of orders. I also consulted with her. The attorney told my daughter the weekend before the Monday hearing that she ...would be attending by phone and would be at another case in another town. She also told her she would ask for a continuance (delay) because the other party had not filed all the paperwork. She did warn my daughter the continuance might not be granted. The attorney showed up by phone, but did not even ask for the continuance. She told us later that it makes no difference to the judge's ruling if the lawyer is physically present. (Since when does body language, eye contact, and the ability to hear and respond quickly not count?) She also said she didn't ask for the continuance because it was a different judge than what she expected. The lawyer should have at least told my daughter she would not be physically present at the hearing when we hired her. She had agreed to ask for some changes in the holiday/special days schedule. Instead of having these filed in writing ahead of time, she tried to just discuss the details on the phone at the hearing. It was too confusing for everyone with nothing but mediator recommendations in writing, so the judge made no changes from the original order. The attorney did not bring up the majority of items that she had agreed to address at the hearing or push back on most of the oppositions’ requests. She allowed them to get more than was recommended by the mediator with no pushback. After the hearing, we could not get a copy of the orders. For a week and a half we kept asking to get the orders and she kept saying they were not filed yet. The court said they wouldn't talk about it with my daughter because she had a lawyer. This made no sense because the other party had the new orders and sent me a photo of the heading. When we asked her for an explanation about why she didn't bring up the items we had discussed on the phone and in emails, she gave nonsensical reasons for her lack of doing what she said she would do. However, we got charged for every email and phone call. She talks a good talk on the phone ahead of time, but refuses to see you in person or show up in person, and then does not do what she said she would do

Hiring This Attorney Was a Nightmare – You’ve Been Warned!

Hiring Rebecca Rainwater was one of the most frustrating and disappointing professional experiences I’ve ever had. The complete lack of communication, professionalism, and basic client service was beyond unacceptable. 1️⃣ Unresponsive & Disrespectful: Reaching out was like talking to a wall. Calls... and emails went ignored for unreasonable periods, leaving me constantly chasing for basic information. This is not just poor service—it’s outright negligence. 2️⃣ Inexcusable Delays: Critical updates and documents were delayed for weeks, causing unnecessary stress and confusion. There’s no excuse for this level of disorganization. 3️⃣ No Guidance or Support—I expected professional advice and direction. What I got was silence and indifference, leaving me to handle important decisions on my own. If you want an attorney who will abandon you, look no further. 4️⃣ Zero Billing Transparency: Not once did I receive a bill until my retainer was completely drained. How they can justify draining client funds without providing a single detailed invoice is beyond me. This is shady and unacceptable. Bottom line: Save yourself the frustration and money. Working with Rebecca Rainwater was a nightmare I wouldn’t wish on anyone. Their lack of professionalism is appalling, and I’m taking steps to ensure no one else has to endure what I did. Do yourself a favor—look elsewhere. Tim F

Move away and 50/50 custody

I’m very pleased with Rebecca’s work ethic. Her reviews were amazing and I decided to give her a call for a consultation. It was in the first couple of minutes that I knew I wanted her on my side. My case was a move away case from CA to HI. You can believe I needed great representation. Boy, did I fi...nd it with Rebecca. She took on my case and I felt very comfortable with her on my side. She’s a fighter, understanding, knowledgeable, makes her presence known, and did I mention a fighter? Rebecca, keep doing what you do and your team rocks. Big mahalos.

A bad lawyer !

She was my 1st family lawyer 7 years ago. She said she is a christian cheat my trusts. She collected another party’s lawyer to change a retired judge without my knowledge, it made me lost my DV case at my first step. Because her serious moral absence, I lost my 2 years old daughter’s custody fell int...o the deep depression. Fortunately I met a great lawyer help me verse my case, but it was very very hard. Be careful when you thinking about hire her!!!

I'm sorry that you lost custody of your child, but sadly none of this is true and it saddens me that you have decided to attack me and hide behind social media because you had a bad outcome AFTER I left your case. Because of issues I cannot discuss here, but you are well aware of, I elected to file a motion to be relieved from your case. When I left your case you had custody of your daughter. You retained new counsel and lost custody of your child which had nothing to do with my representation. If the judge assigned to your case was changed it had nothing to do with me, attorneys don't have that kind of power. For the record, you made similar false statements about me and the Judge told you he found that I had provided excellent professional representation in your matter and had done nothing wrong in the handling of your case. You can purchase the transcript if you need to be reminded. I'm sorry you lost custody of your daughter but it is the facts in a family law case that determines the outcome. I'm sorry you feel it necessary to blame someone but if it makes you feel better I hope it helped.

Amazing!
