Elaine J. Serrao

Elaine concentrates her practice in tax planning, estate planning, and asset protection planning for closely held businesses and their owners. She advises clients in a wide variety of business transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, corporate restructuring, and real estate transactions. She also handles U.S. and California income tax matters, including audit and controversy, for corporations, partnerships, limited liability companies, and individuals.  For individual clients, Elaine has experience advising clients on a broad range of estate planning matters, from wills and revocable living trusts, to more sophisticated vehicles such as asset protection trusts and intentionally defective irrevocable trusts.

Elaine graduated first in her class and summa cum laude from the University of La Verne College of Law in 2012. She then obtained an LL.M. in Taxation from Boston University School of Law in 2013, graduating sixth in her class. While completing her LL.M. program, Elaine volunteered with the Boston Tax Help Coalition to provide tax preparation services to low and middle income residents.

Prior to joining Lobb & Plewe, LLP, Elaine practiced in the areas of probate, trust and estate litigation, conservatorships, and bankruptcy.
