Tenacious

Tenacious is not strong enough to describe the effort from Sheryl and her staff. I would highly recommend her to anyone going through a family law matter.

She got me my kids back

Before I met Ms. McDonnell, I was paying over 2,000 a month in child support and I hardly ever saw my kids(90/10 visitation). My ex was essentially just trying to paint me out as a bad guy to get my visitation down to increase her support payments. Sheryl saw through that and proved to the court that... my ex had been lying the whole time. We then got 50/50 visitation (which was all I had wanted the whole time), and my child support payments were down to a fraction of what they had been before. I also got to keep my retirement which I had all but said goodbye to. Now I won't lie there were times it was hard to understand what was going on in my case, but I realized they were working on it and the less I made a fuss and just did what they told me to, the less I had to pay and the faster the case went. Which was admittedly difficult for the control freak in me, but I'd rather have an attorney that knows what she's doing like Sheryl, than one that pats my hand and gets their butt kicked in court.

She won't settle your case

When I first hired Ms. McDonnell she promised she would settle my "very simple" case. After she got my hefty retainer she changed her tune. What could have been easily settled with a willing party took monthly appearances until she decided we had to go to trial and I could no longer afford her hefty... fees. She was extremely rude, vulgar, and disrespectful not only to me but to her staff in the presence of her clients. In the short time I worked with her she went through 6 paralegals. One even contacted me to apologize for Ms. McDonnell's behavior and to tell me how unprofessional she really was and it was her motto to dragout her cases. Ms. McDonnell told the paralegal that my $5,000 retainer was a nice downpayment on a new car. What could have been a quick and easy divorce turned out to be a living nightmare that cost far too much thanks to Ms. McDonnell's shotty representation of my case and by her taking full advantage of me financially to the point that I am on the brink of bankruptcy.

Relationship: Opposing Counsel on matter

"Ms. McDonnell is the consummate professional. Her reputation for excellence is known throughout the Inland Empire and surrounding counties. She handles complex and difficult cases without fear or hesitation. I see the negative reviews some have left. The general public needs to realize that many negative reviews that attorneys receive are from the OTHER side. I have known this attorney for almost eight years and have never doubted her legal ability on any case that I have watched her handle. Don't always trust negative reviews...they are often not the clients and never retained the attorney for services."
