I hired her for a trial 2 months prior and when my court day arrived she could not attend. On the continued date she was present but had nothing filed on time. I went from have primary custody of my kids 75% of the time to completely losing them due to her not having representing me right and speakin...g up.

I hired this attorney thinking that I would be getting someone fair and aggressive to represent me. I am a man and I was seeking out someone who practices for fathers rights. Since she was fairly cheap, I figured I would be able to afford her. Oh my gosh, where do I start?? Well, in the year and a ha...lf I had her as my attorney, I have gotten nothing to go in my favor. She has made mistake after mistake after mistake when it comes to her and her office properly serving my ex, showing up to motions, filing continuances, and helping me get my supervised visitation taken away. She had me file a false report on a therapist to the board of Behavioral Health so I would get a new one which didn't work. She took a YEAR to actually get heard for a motion to switch therapists and that still isn't going my way. My child support has not changed at all and now I am facing a contempt charge because she directed me not to pay any support. Kathleen Alvarado has already been in trouble for unethical practices and let me tell you, her practice has not changed. She continues to practice unethically and unlawfully and really needs to be investigated and have her right to practice law taken away. I still have nothing in my favor but yet she is quick to collect my money. At all costs, please look for another reputable attorney to represent you.

When contacted the Law Offices of Kathleen G. Alvarado, I was offered a free in person consultation to answer all my questions and concerns. At the consultation, all of my questions and concerns were thoroughly discussed in great detail. I did not feel pressured or any attempt of being sold on a serv...ice. I was simply just well informed of all my options. Ms. Alvarado's offices are located in a centrally located building in an old downtown Riverside building. Her offices did not appear to be that of high scale or of great expense but provided something of a comfortable and relaxed environment which was relieving since I was already stressed out enough as it was. The majority of the staff seemed to be attentive and constantly busy which I assume was a good sign. I liked how the staff seemed to actually be concerned with my issues instead of being robotic. During the course of my case, I was always given a realistic breakdown of the possible outcomes and goals that I should focus on. I appreciated the down to earth vibe. I have worked with other previous attorney's in the past and the vast majority of them were more concerned about my money and the replenishment of my retainer over all else or I was given empty promises just to please me. I honestly rather someone treat me direct instead of floating my boat. At any time that I had requested a summary of my charges, they appeared to be reasonable especially in comparison to other attorneys I previously hired. Her billing rate was approximately $125.00 less then my previous attorney per hour. On one occasion there appeared to be an error on my statement, but after I brought it to the billing department's attention it was corrected immediately without hassle. I am happy to say that at the beginning of my case I had nothing, I only had alternate weekend visitation and Mom had full custody. I was also paying a high support order! and....... now I was finally able to get joint custody, and about a 50/50 split. After we handled my child support I now pay about 1/2 of what I was paying before. I share joint custody and see my children regularly. Although my case is not active her office still answers my questions or calls out of courtesy which I like. I HAVE TO RECOMMEND THIS ATTORNEY! I was referred to her office, and out of respect I have to also share the referral to anyone else who may need assistance! If she still offers a Free Consultation, what's the hurt in at least finding out for yourself.
