John F. Brady is a highly experienced bankruptcy attorney. He has extensive knowledge in bankruptcy, foreclosure and real estate law. He has been practicing law since 1975 in San Diego.
Attorney Brady is an honors graduate from the University of Southern California (U.S.C.) with a degree in Economics. He graduated from University of San Diego, School of Law in 1975 and passed the California State Bar examination the first time.
After starting his law practice, Mr. Brady has enhanced his legal knowledge by taking over 600 hours of Continuing Legal Education with courses in bankruptcy, real estate and litigation. He also took specialty courses for lawyers in Litigation and Trial Advocacy at the premier Hastings College of Advocacy and the San Diego Inn of Court and has served as a judge pro-tem.
He has presented numerous seminars in bankruptcy and foreclosure and counseled homeowners with mortgage and foreclosure problems in San Diego and Riverside Counties with Housing Opportunities Collaborative as a volunteer. He has presented a training program for the San Diego Public Administrator/ Public Guardian’s office in foreclosure and bankruptcy. Attorney Brady has lectured to the Elder Law and Advocacy Legal group about foreclosure and bankruptcy options.
He counseled victims of a massive real estate fraud scheme in San Diego County through the District Attorney’s Office and the Housing Opportunities Collaborative as a volunteer and received an acknowledgement for his work from the San Diego District Attorney, Bonnie M. Dumanis.
He received a Certificate of Congressional Recognition from the United States House of Representative, member Susan A. Davis for his service to the community (volunteer work with the Housing Opportunities Collaborative).
He is a two (2) time recipient (2008 and 2009) of the Wiley W. Manuel Award for Pro Bono Legal Services from the State Bar of California and the Legal Aid Society for volunteer work counseling homeowners with mortgage and foreclosure problems.
In his practice, he and his law firm have successfully counseled and represented thousands of individuals and businesses with foreclosure, mortgage and debt problems.

Foreclosure assistance

Chapter 13 bankruptcy put a stop to the foreclosure sale and harassing creditor phone calls. It allowed him to repay his taxes and the arrears on his mortgage over five years. At this end of his repayment plan all of his unsecured debts were discharged.
Upon filing for Chapter 7 we were able to prevent the bank from immediately foreclosing on their house. Also, in less than three months 100% of their unsecured debts were discharged through the Chapter 7. We helped them discharge over $135,000 in debt.
