Worthless law office

This office is a scam and pays to get their bad reviews removed on Yelp. BEWARE!!! I hired John Cannon to represent me in 2020, it took him 5 months to even file! The man would not even return calls or emails. This office scammed me out of $4,400 for crappy service. Never was I represente...d in my case. The ONLY time I got a follow up message was on Yelp and I messaged with my information and number to resolve it, but never a call! If your going to put your name plate on a door JOHN EDGAR, you should back it up ethically and honestly.

Juvenile Court

I had a terrible experience with attorney NA. First, she asked for full fee payment upfront. Next, out of the 5 court appearances, she only showed up (late) for 2. In one of these two, she walked straight into the chamber without consulting with me and as a result was unprepared for the proceedings. ...Another attorney stood in for her for the other 3 cases. The reason I hired a private attorney was to get the best legal representation. In that regard, she fell way short of my expectation

Terrible

I wish I would have read all the reviews on this form earlier because everything negative that happen to the reviewers happened to me and my family. All they did was show face at court and never actually did anything besides file paperwork. We were just a dollar sign to them and they never kept one l...awyer on the case and they assured me it wouldn’t affect the case. Come court date the lawyers are quiet and don’t seem to know what they are doing. I would have been better representing myself. They say we hired them to talk for us but each court date I spoke to the judge the most. When spoken to by the judge attorney BD tried dodging questions upsetting the judge. Does that sound like a good lawyer to you? I hope people read all the reviews and spend your money on a better firm. Complete waste of time and money.

Worst attorney!

I have to think these reviews are family or accaintances of mr Edgar! Everyone I have spoken to about him has told me the opposite as far as their experience with him went. He will drag a case out till u are flat broke then dump u to fiend for yourself with no remorse! Run to the hills before usin...g him as an attorney if you want to keep your children. A father hat abonded three kids years ago. And he told me a judge would award him ex amount of time due to him being a police officer. Despite a mediator report requesting supervised visitation. He never answered my calls never gave me advice! He will do nothing for you!

Interesting review. This client begged and begged for us to remain as her attorney and made promises to pay.

Ridiculous

We needed a someone who practices family law in California to handle a custody and child support modification - we live 3000 miles from CA, so in order to get it done right, we decided to hire this firm. "Should be simple." We sent the retainer and signed the contract in April. Court papers were f...iled in July. We were required to do Child Custody Counseling in September and requested to appear by phone. We emailed Mr. Edgar asking what we needed to do to appear by phone weeks before the mediation. The night before mediation, we got a phone call from the law office instructing us to call the courthouse and leave a message with our pertinent information. We did. The court never called us for the mediation. The next day, our case report stated "No recommendation -party did not appear, no doc." Mediation rescheduled for NOVEMBER. Eleven days after the first scheduled mediation, the certificate of completion for UPTOPARENTS was filed and the custody/child support modification was pushed back two more months. A month after the first mediation, a request to apppear by phone was submitted. (I assume this should have been done previous to the first date.) The second mediation attempt was successful. Moving forward to November: The custody/support modification hearing. The morning of, the courthouse is called and given our case information. The hearing was scheduled for 8:30 am. At 9:30 am, we called the courthouse again. We were told they would call when they were ready. Two hours after that, the court called and asked, "Have you heard from Mr. Edgar? What's taking so long, is that he hasn't shown." If he couldn't be there, then someone else from his office should've been there. At the very least, we and the court should've been notified that he wouldn't be present. Needless to say, we went ahead with the hearing without "our lawyer" present. We called him after the hearing and he never got back to us. Responsibility and accountablity mean anything? We still have one minor problem to solve - perhaps Mr. Edgar can redeem himself, but, for the most part, we have no confidence in his ability to get anything done correctly or in a timely manner. He did communicate well when he needed money to file paperwork. His paralegal, Tonya, gets five stars. Thank you for your help, Tonya.
