Kevin Earl Lawless

Kevin Earl Lawless was born and raised in the suburbs of Chicago, where he graduated in 2007 Summa Cum Laude from Northern Illinois University with a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and a double minor in Sociology and Psychology.

Mr. Lawless graduated from Thomas Jefferson School of Law in 2011 where he received his Juris Doctorate.  While attending Thomas Jefferson in his third year of law school, Mr. Lawless was an active member in the Mock Trial Team, competing in the 2010 San Diego Defense Lawyer’s Competition.   While attending law school Mr. Lawless interned at a number of different law firms and gained experience in fields such as personal injury and social security disability.

In July 2013 Mr. Lawless began working for a San Diego based law firm practicing creditor’s rights. While at that employ, Mr. Lawless sat first chair at over two dozen bench trials, drafted hundreds of briefs both as the moving party and opposing party, arguing many of them at law and motion hearings. Mr. Lawless was also responsible for the firm’s cases that were appealed, thus handling all briefing and oral arguments in front of three judge panels. Through his tenure with the San Diego based firm, Mr. Lawless appeared in courts throughout the State of California, including the counties of San Diego, Imperial, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino, Los Angeles, Sacramento, Oakland, and El Dorado.

In September 2015 Mr. Lawless joined the Childers team bringing to the firm his valuable courtroom and civil experience. Mr. Lawless’ focus is on defending felony and misdemeanor cases, family law, personal injury, and business law matters.  Quickly gaining a reputation for his attention to detail, professionalism, client care, and presence in the courtroom, Mr. Lawless continues to make a name for himself in the Imperial Valley.

In his spare time, Mr. Lawless enjoys spending time with his wonderful wife and high school sweetheart, relaxing with their cats “Jack” and “Sassafras”, playing computer games, and working on his car.
