Legal Counsel for Divorce in 2008

Mr. Watkins was professional and informative throughout my divorce proceedings. The ex. hired a wakko from Rancho Cucamonga who literally tried to change CA precedence law regarding step father providing child support without any legal binding to the children (Who I loved and attempted to adopt but B...i-Polar mom and drug abusing/alcoholic birth father denied). Anyway, Watkins helped guide me through the myriad of legal issues and ended up saving me a boatload since I was pretty much clueless on the legal procedures of CA child support law. Thank you Tom! The entire divorce took almost two years but I shudder to think what my current situation would have been like without his assistance during the divorce.

The reason people can't stand lawyers

The worst excuse for a lawyer I've ever experienced. My mom and dad hired him last year for their bankruptcy and paid him several thousand dollars to handle it. First off, he's NEVER returned a call except for the first time they called for an initial consultation. He missed the first court date and ...never called. He avoided us for days/weeks until we finally drove the 25 minutes out to his office. They paid him the extra $1,000 he wanted to ensure that the liens and judgments against their house were lifted and he said they were. My dad has since passed due to a brain tumor at the age of 58, and my husband and I are TRYING to buy my childhood home from my mom so she doesn't lose it but the title company informed us that all $30,000 worth of liens are still there. We've called him more times than I can count without the phone so much as being answered, even though apparently they have a receptionist. He's never called so finally my mom went in and caught him while he was on the office and he asks "you wanted those lifted?" As if it was so surprising. So he said he'd do it and let us know. It's now been 2 weeks and we have gotten no response. I've even emailed him so we aren't tying up lines. I've emailed twice, nicely asking for at least an update as my title and loan company are both pressuring me for information. The title company has placed several calls and he's not answered or returned one of them. I honestly didn't think a professional could be this shady. We both took off work early today so I could go in with her and he wasn't there. Another man came out and asked what we were there for and I quickly explained we needed Tom and he told us we should have made an appointment and that he and the receptionist are both gone today. We told him we'd LOVE to make an appointment if he'd only respond so we could arrange one and he interrupted me mid sentence with saying "well, you're just going to have to come back in tomorrow then".

I was hired to do something that was not technically possible and the client could not accept that and keep insisting to talk.
