My boyfriend and I lived in the state of Nevada. Our son was two months old when I came to California. When my son was 4 months old my boyfriend decided to move out to California. Two months later things didn’t work out and my ex moved back to Nevada. Immediately I filed for custody and at the time... of filing my son was 6 months. Two weeks later I’m served with papers from Nevada claiming I improperly filed.The attorney helped me win jurisdiction since my son stayed in California longer. Plus I have full custody of my son. Going through my custody battle was very emotionally trying. I was lucky to have choosen Fischer & Van Thiel to help me protect the moast valuable assset of my life...my children. At the initial interview I was informed that the children and their safety were a primary concern of the firm. While I li...ke this, I was concerned when they said you had to trust your attorney because there we time whn they may have to give you advice that is not what you want to hear. As we progressed through the process I came to understand what they were referring to as there were many times when it bacame apparent that they knew the law and how the judge would respond. They were very good at telling me, even before the hearing, how the ruling was going to go and what to expect. Hired Craig for a complicated divorce and custody case. Yet Im still married. He seemed to have either underestimated the case or willingly taken it without having the required skills and knowledge was not kept informed very well if at all. Craig has a very poor personality and does not seem to perso...naly care very much. I would not recommend. Dont waste your money.
