Thought my case was hopeless, they gave me actionable legal guidance that lead to a successful appeal!

I was denied government clearance, in a large part due to bad information. I did 2 out of 3 rounds of appeals on my own and was getting no where. 2 weeks before my final hearing date, I thought to contact a law firm. Edmunds responded and despite my own pessimism that we'd overturn the decision, I... was just notified that the panel did just that. I was going in blind before reaching, but the firm instructed me in what I needed to prepare for each part of my defense. I met one of their attorneys, Ryan, the day of the hearing and he guided me through the process. I couldn't be more satisfied.

Highly Recommended!

I hired the Edmunds Law Firm after receiving the Statement of Reasons for my 2013 security clearance application denial. I had previously applied for a security clearance in 2009 and was denied after not fully responding in a timely manner to the response to interrogatories. In both applications my... clearance was denied primarily due to a history of drugs, alcohol and criminal charges from my early adult life. I was hopeless, after submitting the response to interrogatories for my 2013 application and reviewing the long listed statements of reasons, that I would ever obtain a security clearance. I found Alan Edmunds website via surfing the internet looking for National Security Lawyers and reviewing his testimonials from past clients. On my first telephone conversation with Alan, he hit home with me the whole person concept. That, yes, I may have made a series of mistakes in my 20s when it came to drugs and alcohol, but there is much more to my story than what was on paper. Given my starting point in life, I have come a very long way. He helped me to understand the process from the government’s perspective and for once gave me some hope that someday I could obtain a clearance and be able to fully contribute to my profession and society. He gave me many suggestions to prepare for the appeal that I followed to the best of my ability. Throughout the process I had regular contact with Alan, his law firm staff, and the legal writer compiling my response to the government. The Edmunds Law Firm staff and legal aides were very clear on what the costs would be for me throughout the process. I had never had a retainer agreement with a law firm, but once explained and I took the time to understand the process it made perfect sense. All things included, from the professionally written SOR response to Attorney Edmunds personal appearance at my trial hearing, was well… well worth the fees I paid for his services. I have hired big name law firms in the past to only get their “new hire” representing me; to have Alan’s personal touch and years of experience here, made a world of difference. I have no doubt that without Alan Edmunds I would not have won my appeal. In fact, I wish I had hired his firm in 2009 when I was first denied the interim clearance.
